Job Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled User Terminal Operations Engineerto join our team. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact within an organization that values growth, teamwork, and professional development.

Who You Are:

As a UT Operations Engineer at OneWeb, you will play a key role in our business growth. You will work with other Operations Engineering and Development teams to provide tier 3 operational support for the early stages of new user terminals deployment, service support escalations, and new system features deployments.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide Tier 3 Operations Engineer support for User Terminal Service and Operations troubleshooting and debugging
  • Perform new firmware and software release planning and testing for a variety of UTs
  • Deliver hands on training of new features and user terminals to Operations Team and Distribution Partners
  • Work closely with the Dev Engineering and System Engineering to identify issues to improve the performance of UTs
  • Investigate and reproduce reported issues with UT vendors engineers
  • Create and maintain documentation regarding existing standards and processes
  • Provide support for installation and configuration of user terminals
  • On-site engagement with technical support from Distribution Partners
  • Support on-call rotation for high priority escalations
  • Travel up to 20% of the time

What You'll Need:

  • Systematic and methodical approach to debugging and problem solving
  • Experience with SatCom and RF technologies
  • Experience with IP networks (routing and switching)
  • Working knowledge and use of Linux OS and python programming
  • Working understanding of Cellular Technologies would be desirable, e.g. 3GPP
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Understanding of regulatory and test standards related to land maritime and aviation industry
  • Experience in electrical and mechanical skills required in Satcom
  • Experience with RF test and measuring equipment
  • A degree in a related engineering field (information systems, computer science, electrical engineering, computer engineering)
  • Ability to articulate problems and solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical audience
