Job description

The Senior Satellite Communications Systems Engineer provides technical leadership across complex NASA and commercial communication programs. This role requires expertise in space communications architectures, RF and antenna systems, ground system integration, and lifecycle management. The engineer will oversee mission-critical technical activities and ensure system readiness across the full engineering lifecycle. Core responsibilities include:

  • Lead requirements development, architecture assessment, and system-level interoperability analysis.
  • Provide senior-level technical oversight for integration and test efforts across ground and space communications systems.
  • Own technical risk management, including identifying risks, developing mitigation strategies, and tracking resolution.
  • Lead schedule-driven technical activities, maintain integrated master schedules, and coordinate multi-program dependencies.
  • Guide system validation efforts, including RF/antenna performance verification and ground station integration tests.
  • Represent engineering leadership at NASA life-cycle reviews, milestone assessments, and readiness evaluations.
  • Coordinate with NASA centers, contractors, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure alignment across technical objectives.
  • Support configuration management, issue resolution, and compliance with NASA and industry technical standards.
  • Drive high-level technical decision-making, architecture trades, and engineering process improvements.
Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Aerospace Engineering, or similar field.

Experience: 10-15+ years of experience in satellite communications, RF systems, or mission operations engineering.

WorkAuthorization: Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident.

This is a full-time, on-site position in Cleveland, OH.
