Job description

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop system and subsystem verification matrices aligned with system requirements.
  • Coordinate and participate in system-level testing activities, including test planning, execution, and reporting.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in SATCOM or networking, providing technical guidance to team members.
  • Design, develop, and maintain test cases and test environments to support various validation scenarios.
  • Perform hands-on testing in the LEO lab, focusing on data path and routing features.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (DevOps, Ground Systems, Satellite teams) to promote a cohesive and innovative work environment.
  • Contribute actively to component and subsystem design and testing activities.
  • Configure and operate test equipment such as satellite link emulators, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and traffic generators.
  • Ensure that products meet technical, functional, performance, and business requirements.
  • Partner with antenna vendors to support SOW, SRR, and related documentation, including test requirements, plans, results, and RVTM reviews.
  • Oversee integration of antenna systems with modems and other interfaces.
  • Support development of internal test plans and verification methodologies.
  • Assist in Over-The-Air (OTA) test planning and execution, including test automation processes.
  • Support system acceptance activities for LEOP and IOT phases.

Education & Experience Required
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Electrical, Computer, or Systems Engineering.
  • Minimum 20 years of experience in satellite communications.
  • 10+ years of experience with various antenna types, including flat panel, parabolic, and aero antennas (Ka-band preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in satellite RF communication systems, with strong knowledge of modulation and coding standards such as DVB-S2(X) and DVB-RCS2.
  • Strong understanding of RF engineering principles and design practices.
  • Hands-on experience with RF test equipment (oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, satellite channel emulators).
  • Solid understanding of air interfaces, modem technologies, and their impact on satellite link performance.
  • Experience performing satellite link budget analysis and assessing performance impairments.
  • Proficiency with test case and defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Jama).
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with management, engineering teams, and external partners.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
  • Experience working with geographically distributed teams.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with Ka-band antenna vendors.
  • Hands-on experience with flat panel and aero antenna technologies.
  • Familiarity with BUC/LNB systems and related antenna technologies.
  • Experience supporting LEOP and IOT planning activities.
  • Strong team player with the ability to build trust and collaborate effectively.
  • Knowledge of MEF standards.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, or similar tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
