Job Description
Registered Nurses are responsible for the assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized patient care delivery. The Registered Nurse provides clinical leadership to the patient care team for the assigned shift.
Hours: 3am-3pm, weekend and holiday rotation
Requirement: Active RN in the State of IL
Responsibilities
Advocates for quality outcomes for patients., Applies nursing process to patients and family education to promote patient's management of own healthcare., Assesses based on patient's communication of information and need, existing signs and symptoms, current patient data, and nursing knowledge., Assesses patients' conditions and care delivery through direct observation, rounding, and data input from other team members., Assessment - Collects pertinent data and information relative to the patient's health or the situation. Recognizes normal and abnormal findings when gathering data., Coordinates bed and patient care assignments during shift and in preparation for the next shift to ensure consistency in care delivery., Coordination of Care - Plans and evaluates care in collaboration with appropriate disciplines., Diagnosis - Analyzes assessment data to determine actual or potential diagnosis, problems, and issues., Documents and reports care delivered to the physicians and other team members as needed., Documents assessment data, nursing interventions, and patient outcomes. Recognizes normal and abnormal findings when gathering data and reports data and outcomes as appropriate to physician and/or other disciplines., Enhances professional growth through classes related to communication, teaching, stress management, conflct resolution, team building annually. (This is in addition to required unit/patient specific education.), Evaluation - Evaluates progress toward attainment of goals and outcomes. Reports data and outcomes to others as appropriate., Implementation - Implements care or work plan in alignment with the plan and approved safety, infection control, and department/organization standards., Knowledge - In collaboration with leaders, actively pursues required knowledge and skills through orientation activities specific to the position, reading current literature and seeking new learning opportunities., Obtains and maintains professional knowledge by completing required knowledge and skills through orientation and competency activities specific to the unit, unit based in-service programs, reading current literature and seeking new clinical learning opportunities., Outcomes Identification - Identifies expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the patient or situations., Planning - Develops a plan that prescribes strategies to attain expected, measurable outcomes., Promotes the professionalism of nursing through pursuing/obtaining an advanced degree, certification, committee involvement, pursuit of evidence-based practice, and continuing education., Provides leadership and supervision to health care team during assigned shift., Provides performance feedback to team members input to Manager/Director regarding appraisals., Relationships - Establishes effective working relationships with peers, physicians, and other members of the health care / work team. Identifies and confers with appropriate resources regarding patient / work decisions., Serves as strong, positive role model for other health care team members., Supports relationship based care by providing compassionate, holistic care to patients, family, and co-workers and promoting a safe, caring, and healing environment, Teaching - Employs teaching strategies to promote health and a safe environment.
