Job description

This consultant role is critical at HR Focal Point as the role is responsible for leading and implementing EC payroll solutions. The consultant will utilize their comprehensive knowledge of HR and Payroll processes to guide clients through the full lifecycle of implementations while ensuring best practices are being followed.

Although this position is remote there may be travel required when requested.

Job Responsibilities

  • Serve as a hands-on application expert in the SAP Payroll/SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll domain.
  • Collaborate individually and as part of a team to deliver EC Payroll solutions and manage the full implementation lifecycle.
  • Prepare and review project deliverables, ensuring accountability within project scope.
  • Advise Project Leads and Managers on best practice decisions tailored to client needs and culture.
  • Lead design workshops with clients to define solution design practices aligning with SAP best practices.
  • Support Project Leads in translating business goals into feasible and optimized solutions.
  • Conduct impact assessments with Quarterly Releases.
  • Develop and enhance reusable content, tools, and intellectual property.
  • Identify and propose process improvements with clear solution definitions.
  • Gather and analyze clients’ business requirements and objectives.
  • Support pre-sales initiatives by developing roadmaps, estimates, and responses to RFP/RFQ’s.
  • Setup and deliver high-quality demonstrations and presentations.
  • Assist and support functional and technical leads during workshops.
  • Design and support proof of concepts for proposed technical solutions.
  • Collaborate in the preparation of workshop and training materials.

Additional responsibilities may include but are not limited too:

  • Address production support tickets as assigned including issue/root cause analysis, system configuration, updating documentation, creating functional specifications and overseeing development for custom requirements, unit testing and supporting subsequent testing efforts and issue resolution, transporting configuration, and user support.
  • Perform/Support routine Payroll specific activities business operations (customer specific) like supporting and performing regular and off-cycle payroll runs, form generations, posting, reconciliation, etc.
  • BSI Tax Update Bulletin maintenance, including change testing and coordination customer coordination and communication.
  • New Release and Support Pack maintenance, including testing and coordination with clients on changes.
  • Create OSS/SAP Support incidents and serve as a liaison with SAP for issue resolution.
  • Keeping abreast of new and relevant SAP features and functionality and new release content.
  • Payroll schema creation and maintenance
  • SAP Payroll IMG configuration
  • Assist customers by completing taxes related monthly, quarterly and year-end activities including reconciliation

Required Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree (or compelling related work experience)
  • Excellent English language, oral and written communication skills
  • US Citizenship or authorization to work in the United States.
  • Willingness to travel (occasionally and as needed)
  • At least 2 to 5 years of US Payroll experience specifically with SAP technology including experience with gross/net calculations, taxes, garnishment, interfaces, GL, and posting to finance. (International Payroll experience is a plus!)
  • Have played the role of module lead and/or primary SAP payroll configuration lead in one or more End to End Implementation projects.
  • Expertise in related SAP HCM / SuccessFactors and related business processes including integration with related modules (Finance, SAP HCM, Employee Central, Time Management, Benefits, Compensation, ABAP, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical experience in BASIS, ABAP, and CPI helpful but not required.
  • Strong organization, planning skills.
  • Ability to assess and optimize client solutions using existing system functionality and best practices
