Job description

Recognized as a technology leader, Sanmina Corporation provides end-to-end manufacturing solutions, delivering superior quality and support to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) primarily in the communications networks, defense and aerospace, industrial and semiconductor systems, medical, multimedia, computing and storage, automotive and clean technology sectors. Sanmina Corporation has facilities strategically located in key regions throughout the world.

The Sanmina Fremont facility is a full-service enclosure systems solution manufacturing plant. Located in California's Silicon Valley, this facility produces low-to-mid volume New Product Introduction (NPI) runs to full-scale volume. The Fremont facility offers everything from small piece parts to fully integrated and tested systems.

In addition, this location offers in-house painting capabilities and flexible logistics solutions in distribution, inventory management and hubbing, as well as repair services. Job Purpose: We are seeking a skilled Quality Technician for our first shift to perform precision mechanical inspections on manufactured components. This role requires hand on experience in CMM operation, manual inspection techniques ("hard checks"), and a deep knowledge of GD&T for inspecting sheet metal, laser cut, and welded parts.

Key Responsibilities Conduct first article, incoming, in-process, and final inspections on machined parts, sheet metal, and welded assemblies. Perform precise dimensional inspections (hard check) using manual tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges) and CMMs. Interpret complex engineering drawings, applying expert knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5)

Good hand-on experience to operate CMMs (Zeiss or Brown & Sharpe or Mitutoyo) to verify parts against specifications. Document and report all inspection results and non-conformances accurately in the quality management system. Perform receiving inspection on incoming materials and components (raw materials and outside services).

Qualifications & Skills Experience: Minimum 2-4 years of quality control inspection in a manufacturing environment (sheet metal, machining, welding, assemblies). Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification is a plus. Blueprint & GD&T: Good level in reading engineering drawings and applying GD&T principles.

Manual Inspection: Proficient with surface plate inspection and all standard hand-held measuring tools. CMM Operation: Hands-on experience is required. Preference for experience with Zeiss (Calypso) or Brown & Sharpe (PC-DMIS), or Mitutoyo (MCOSMOS).

CMM programming is a plus, not required. General Skills: Strong attention to detail, clear and good communication (required), computer proficiency (MS Office), and the ability to work independently. Physical Demands Must possess visual acuity and manual dexterity.
