Highland Baking Company is looking for a detail-oriented individual to fill the Sanitor position in our Spartanburg, SC, location.

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Sanitor to join our team! As a Sanitor, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment for our employees. Your main goal will be to ensure all facility areas are free from dirt, debris, and other hazards. You will work closely with other Sanitation team members to ensure that all cleaning tasks are completed promptly and efficiently.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Clean and sanitize all facility areas, including production areas, restrooms, break rooms, and offices
  • Take down, deep clean, and sanitize surfaces and equipment.
  • Operate cleaning equipment, such as floor scrubbers, vacuums, and pressure washers.
  • Mix and use cleaning chemicals and supplies safely and effectively.
  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines when performing cleaning tasks.
  • Report any maintenance or safety issues to the appropriate personnel.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
  • Ability to operate cleaning equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
  • Experience with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) is preferred.
  • Experience in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing environment

SKILLS:

As a Sanitor, you will use your knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies to ensure that all facility areas are clean and free from hazards. You will operate cleaning equipment to complete your tasks efficiently. Attention to detail and following instructions are critical skills for this role. Additionally, you may be required to work with hazardous materials, so knowledge of proper handling and disposal procedures is beneficial. Finally, experience with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) is preferred, as it ensures that all cleaning tasks are completed to the highest standards.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The position requires regular physical activity, such as reaching, bending, twisting, squatting, lifting up to 50 lbs, and walking/standing within and around the site for a minimum of 8-12 hours daily.
