Job Summary

The Sanitation Engineer is responsible for ensuring trash is transported, processed, and disposed properly to the compactor, while ensuring compliance with cleanliness standards in all areas pertaining to garbage management.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Keep all designated garbage collection areas clean and cleared daily
  • Transport all garbage to defined collection areas or process with the trash compactor accordingly
  • Work in close coordination with the Stewarding team to ensure fulfillment of property needs
  • Executive daily tasks provided by Stewarding leadership, involving overall property back-of-house support
  • Communicate potential dumpster-cycling with the Facilities team
  • Safely operate a company 'side-by-side' vehicle, transporting garbage throughout the resort, following all provided SOPs, guidelines, and maintenance directives
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Chief Steward, or other members of Management

Skills, Experience, & Educational Requirements

  • Prior experience in sanitiation services, garbage collection, or janitorial work preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of basic sanitation best practices
  • Strong committment to safety standards
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Physical Requirements

The ideal candidate must be able to perform all physical requirements of the job in a safe manner, with or without reasonable accommodation.Physical requirements include, but are not limited to: 

  • Standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, and bending in an operational environmentfor extended periods of time
  • Frequent bending, twisting, stooping, reaching, and pulling
  • Lifting and carrying of loads weighing up to 100 pounds
  • Working in outdoor environments, including high altitudes, that may present extreme weather conditions such as snow, ice, rain, heat, wind, etc.
