Schedule Details/Additional Information:
Day shift with flexibility to support operations.
830-5p or 9a-530p M-F
Pay Range:
$41.10 - $61.65
Major Responsibilities:
Coordination of CT activities to support patient care management.
1)Performs time and attendance bi-weekly for staff.
2)Coordinates all outpatient and inpatient exams and procedures in all CT locations. Communicates with ancillary departments and nursing to coordinate care.
3)Checks all requisitions ensuring all tests are ordered correctly and entered into the Radiology Information System. Provides advice and direction regarding the technical standards per procedure.
4)Consults with ordering physicians and Radiologists.
5)Ensures effective patient/exam information is documented and communicated.
6)Monitors department productivity levels and work functions insuring staff development and competency levels to meet demands. Provides overall direction in the planning of cross training for Associates. Schedules department staff and insures utilization of staff.
7)Ensures adherence to department and hospital policies and procedures by the CT staff.
8)Develops and/or revises protocols to meet American College Of Radiology standards and DNV requirements.
Performs C.T. Procedures.
1)Performs computerized tomography procedures according to the policies, procedures and filming requirements approved by the Medical Director and the Manager of radiology Operations.
2)Obtains patient history and other relevant information, and documents this information appropriately.
3)Performs venipuncture, following the policy and procedures of the department, and administers contrast material as prescribed by the Radiologist.
4)Monitors patient's condition during all procedures.
5)Schedules patient exams when necessary.
6)Distributes oral contrast and prep information to patients.
7)Performs advanced imaging and post processing.
8)Ensures proper billing and coding of procedures.
9)Assumes on call responsibilities
Assists in the implementation and training of staff or new technologists.
1)Develops competency criteria for equipment and exams
2)Ensures all staff participate in continuing education and keep current with equipment and procedures.
3)Seek learning opprtunities to keep current with industry trends.
4)Works with radiologist to review and revise department scanning protocols.
Maintains Equipment and Examination Rooms
1)Ensures proper use of equipment and notifies the Service Engineer and Manager of any equipment malfunction.
2)Performs quality assurance testing on all C.T. equipment and maintains record
3)Participates in acquiring American College of Radiology accrediation for the CT department. Ensures timely submission of application and images for continual compliance. .
4)Ensures work areas are safe, sanitary and well maintained.
5)Assists with the evaluation and purchase of new capital equipment.
Maintains appropriate inventory
1)Checks the expiration dates of all supplies weekly.
2)Maintains supplies on the biopsy cart.
3)Advises the Materials Manager of needed supplies and appropriate par levels.
Education/Experience Required:
5 years experience in CT Associates of Certificate of Radiologic Technology 1 hour annually in stroke care
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
Good communication skills. Good interpersonal skills. Good customer relations. Strong organizational skills.
ARRT Registration IDNS License CPR Certification CT Registration
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Knowledge of all areas of the department. May be exposed to radiation during procedures. Ability to wear a lead apron during procedures. May be required to lift and move patient. May be exposed to hazardous materials and infectious diseases.
If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
