Salary Range: $67,146 - $90,647 annually

Overview
We are currently recruiting to fill a full-time position that will be responsible for performing work in the area of environmental health; including, food establishment inspections, cosmetology inspections, and temporary food event inspections, and subsurface sewage disposal plan review, project inspection, and site evaluation. This position reports directly to the Chief Sanitarian.
The health district offers a full scope of competitive benefits, including a choice of PPO or HDHP medical plans. We provide a defined contribution retirement plan. What You Should Bring
We are looking for an individual who has a bachelor's degree in environmental science, public health, or a related field plus four (4) years of experience in environmental health, laboratory work or related field. A current DPH certification in food service inspection, a Registered Sanitarian license issued by the CT DPH, and phase 1 & 2 subsurface sewage certification are required at time of appointment. The ideal candidate will have great communication skills, with the ability to effectively enforce health codes with a compassionate, educational approach and the ability to work independently or as part of the team.
