Role and Responsibilities

Job Description

This role primarily focuses on identifying new innovative technology vendors with the potential of contributing to Samsung Electronics overall advanced project development and/or improving existing supply chain by engaging in daily sourcing operation of seeking out new potential partners and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Under minimal supervision, candidate will be responsible for the daily sourcing operation activities of identifying new potential technology partners, attending exhibitions / expos to discover breakthrough technologies, and supporting the requests from the internal customers. The candidate will work both independently and with team members on assigned project and collaborate with cross-functional teams to fulfill their sourcing needs for product development projects and other relevant activities. Effective communication (verbal and written) skills and exceptional interpersonal skills are expected to bring out the maximum result.

  • Independently coordinate assigned projects with internal customers (HQ business units) and potential technology vendors.

  • Efficiently communicate between business units and technology vendors to facilitate all necessary discussions as needed.

  • Work closely with cross functional teams and effectively understand the key needs of internal customers and their objectives.

  • Negotiate terms for contractual agreements and price as needed.

  • Proactively search (offline and online) and identify wide scope of breakthrough, disruptive technologies and technology startup companies.

  • Research and learn to acquire working knowledge of various technologies and their principal operation to identify over encompassing technical relevance for potential project collaboration.

  • Regularly research relevant markets and industries to stay current in technical advancements and market trend.

  • Collaborate with Samsung's North American manufacturing facilities to identify local suppliers to enhance supply chain.

  • Regularly utilize internal system portals to initiate project collaboration and track its progress.

  • Closely work with other team members on larger projects whenever required to contribute to team's overall goals and objectives.

  • Attend exhibitions, conferences, expos to expand search and engagement of technology vendors and produce reports

  • Report to and closely work with management on important progress and/or issues.

Skills and Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required.

  • 2+ years of experience in related field preferred.

  • Engineering background or knowledge a plus, but not required.

  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.

  • Skilled in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Fluent in English and Korean preferred (Spanish highly regarded, but not required)

Necessary Skills:

  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationship with all assigned levels within the organization, internal customers and technology candidates.

  • The ability to communicate effectively with internal customers and technology vendors.

  • The ability to learn and comprehend the consumer electronics market trend and desires.

  • Skills in planning, organizing and prioritizing various complex assignments and projects simultaneously.

  • The ability to read, interpret and comprehend internal customers' requirements and objectives.

  • Perform tasks and work assignments and complete clearly defined objectives using technical direction with applied knowledge of alternatives.

  • Work independently and in a team environment, in order to achieve personal and team goals and complete assignments within established time frames.

  • Willing to travel 10 - 20% domestically or internationally depends on the business needs

    The salary range for this role is expected to be between $44.47/hr and $54.80/hr. Actual pay will be determined considering factors such as relevant skills and experience, and comparison to other employees in the role.
