Job description

  • Assist in Coordination of print orders and trials according to the schedule.
  • Change over the roll stand and load the roll.
  • Check to ensure that the correct inks are available.
  • Ensure that the colors are properly line up according to the Press Operator’s instructions.
  • Monitor ink viscosities and level.
  • Request additional inks from in-house ink personnel.
  • Check roll stock to verify correct specification, roll size, width and caliper.
  • If defective materials are found, provide roll label and internal label for traceability and identification.
  • Assist the press operator when required.
  • Assist Press Operator in performing all external activities while the current job is running to facilitate an efficient change over.
  • Wash up printing units that require color change.
  • Wash anilox rolls are they are removed from press.
  • Assist in locating the print sleeves and make sure they match the work order.
  • Verify coating requirements according to job instructions.
  • Verify print position on the roll as well as slitting requirements.
  • Check the condition of the plates and the anilox rolls needed.
  • Check if approved proof or layout is in job jacket.
  • Stage print sleeves and bridge mandrels.
  • Check if inks needed are ready and perform quick draw down on the first pail or drum.
  • Assist the press operator in patrolling press during press run to check for deviation from signed copy.
  • When unloading the printed roll, pull a sample and check print quality against the approved sample.
  • At the end of the press run, perform Line Clearance as instructed by the Press Operator.
  • Comply with departmental & job safety practices.
  • Carry out tasks as assigned by Management.
