Job Title: Sample CoordinatorJob Description

The Sample Coordinator supports laboratory operations by managing the full lifecycle of samples and standards, from receipt through final disposition. This role ensures accurate tracking, storage, and transport of materials in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and regulatory requirements. The Sample Coordinator acts as a key resource for laboratory staff, providing guidance on sample management processes, supporting investigations and deviations, and helping maintain the integrity and reliability of laboratory activities.

Responsibilities
  • Perform end-to-end sample and standard management activities, including receipt, check-in, logging, labeling, inventory management, transport, storage, check-out, return, and disposal.
  • Maintain accurate tracking and documentation of samples and standards throughout their entire lifecycle using appropriate systems and records.
  • Communicate sample and standard status updates clearly and promptly to laboratory personnel and other stakeholders.
  • Provide guidance and support to laboratory staff on sample handling procedures, storage requirements, and best practices.
  • Review laboratory requests to ensure they comply with applicable SOPs and relevant regulatory standards.
  • Investigate deviations related to sample management, complete all required documentation, and support corrective and preventive action (CAPA) activities.
  • Assist with the development, review, and continuous improvement of sample handling processes and SOPs to enhance efficiency and compliance.
  • Train personnel on SOPs, storage requirements, and regulatory guidelines related to sample and standard management.
  • Respond to environmental monitoring alarms and participate in on-call responsibilities as needed to support laboratory operations.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely, accurately, and within established timelines while supporting a culture of quality and compliance.
Essential Skills
  • Demonstrated experience with sample preparation and sample management in a laboratory or regulated environment.
  • Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain organized and accurate inventory records for samples and standards.
  • Understanding of basic laboratory practices and sample handling procedures.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a laboratory, sample management, inventory control, or regulated environment, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Ability to interpret and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and regulatory guidelines.
  • Effective communication skills to provide clear status updates and guidance to laboratory personnel.
  • Ability to investigate deviations and contribute to corrective and preventive actions.
  • Capability to respond to environmental monitoring alarms and support on-call responsibilities when required.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical certificate or vocational training preferred.
  • Experience working within GMP, GLP, GCP, or other regulated laboratory environments preferred.
  • Experience supporting continuous improvement of processes and documentation.
  • Ability to train others on procedures, storage requirements, and regulatory expectations.
  • Comfort working with structured documentation and quality systems in a regulated setting.
Work Environment

This role is based in a laboratory environment that follows established SOPs and regulatory standards. Work hours fall within a first-shift schedule, with start times typically as early as 7:00 a.m. and as late as 8:45 a.m. Team members generally work 8-hour days, with flexibility in departure times, and coverage is especially important later in the first shift as teammates begin leaving between approximately 3:00 p.m. and 5:15 p.m. The environment emphasizes safety, accuracy, and adherence to quality and regulatory requirements, with routine interaction with laboratory staff and equipment used for sample storage, transport, and monitoring. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.30 - $18.30/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
