To be successful, you should have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or MST preferred, with 10+ years of progressive tax experience in public accounting, corporate tax, or advisory environments.
  • Solid expertise in ASC 740, partnership taxation, multi-state tax compliance (SALT), and indirect taxes within insurance or financial services industries.
  • Solid technical and analytical skills, including advanced Excel and experience with tax provision/compliance software; proven ability to manage audits, external advisors, and cross-functional projects.
  • Willingness to travel as needed and ability to collaborate across distributed teams, ensuring compliance with evolving federal and state tax regulations.

Your responsibilities as the Tax Manager will include:
  • Lead ASC 740 income tax accounting and reporting, including tax provisions, deferred tax schedules, and SEC financial disclosures.
  • Oversee federal, state, and local tax compliance (SALT), including partnership, corporate, and indirect tax filings across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Manage tax reporting processes such as Schedule K-1s, 1099 filings, and surplus lines reporting in a multi-state insurance environment.
  • Partner with external advisors and internal stakeholders on tax strategy, audits, and regulatory compliance initiatives.
  • Drive process improvements, internal controls (SOX readiness), and automation of tax workflows and reporting systems.
