What We Offer

Novant Health is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our Bariatric program in Salisbury, North Carolina, serving patients throughout Rowan County. This role supports both surgical and non-surgical bariatric patients within a comprehensive, multidisciplinary program focused on lifelong weight management. Our approach integrates nutrition, behavioral health, and exercise education, ensuring patients receive continuous support at every stage of their weight-loss journey.

We are looking for a compassionate, patient-centered provider who is committed to delivering high-quality care in the medical and surgical management of obesity. The ideal candidate values a collaborative, team-based environment, enjoys patient education, and is dedicated to improving the health and wellness of both individuals and the broader community.

Our program emphasizes not only exceptional patient care but also the well-being and professional development of our team members. We foster a supportive environment that encourages growth, innovation, and the sharing of new ideas to enhance patient outcomes and expand our program.

Our experienced surgeons, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants work closely together to deliver outstanding care to both operative and non-operative patients. The selected APP will practice under physician supervision and perform a variety of responsibilities, including, but not limited to, conducting clinic visits, performing office-based procedures, rounding in acute care settings, and supporting OR needs.

Rowan County offers an appealing blend of lifestyle amenities, including access to shopping, dining, arts, and entertainment. The region’s mild climate supports year-round outdoor activities, with nearby parks, lakes, and recreational destinations such as the U.S. National Whitewater Center. Conveniently located, the area is approximately 3.5 hours from the North and South Carolina coasts and about 2 hours from the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Appalachian Trail. Residents enjoy welcoming neighborhoods, strong public-school systems, and a vibrant mix of communities suited for families, singles, and couples alike.

What We're Looking For

Education: Master's Degree required. Either a graduate of an NCCPA accredited physician assistant program, or NP or post Master’s NP program required . RNFA required for NP candidates .

Experience: Open to new and experienced candidates

Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current PA or NP license in appropriate state required. NCCPA or registry with state nursing board, ACLS, DEA registry required.

Additional Skills Required: Ability to successfully complete generic and depart-specific skills validation and competency testing; Thorough knowledge of diagnosis, and pharmacology; Thorough skill in physical assessment and management of chronic illness; Communication skills, both verbal and written; general computer knowledge is preferred; ability to work independently, yet in collaboration when necessary. Ability to use problem-solving, decision making, creative and communication skills. Dedicated to patient rehabilitation and self-care.
