Job description

MUST HAVE RECENT COMMERCE CLOUD EXPERIENCE

Summary:

The Salesforce Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining custom solutions within the Salesforce platform, including CRM, B2B Commerce, and D2C/eCommerce implementations. This role partners with architects, engineers, and business stakeholders to translate functional requirements into scalable, secure, and high-performing Salesforce applications. The Salesforce Developer will utilize SFRA, TypeScript, Javascript, HTML/ISML, CSS/SCSS and Node.js to enhance business processes, improve user experience, and support global scalability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Development & Customization

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy custom Salesforce solutions using JavaScript, TypeScript, ISML/HMTL, Controllers, Pipelines, and Demandware Script within SFRA framework.
  • Customize and configure Cloud Commerce custom objects, Page Designer Content Assets/Components, and Scheduled Jobs.
  • Build user-friendly interfaces and components to enhance sales, service, and commerce experiences.
  • Develop automation and data-processing solutions that minimize manual effort and increase system efficiency.

Integrations & System Connectivity

  • Build and maintain integrations between Salesforce and external systems (ERP, WMS, marketing platforms, and internal applications) using APIs, middleware (Celigo), or native Salesforce tools.
  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and secure transfer across integrated systems.

Collaboration & Agile Delivery

  • Collaborate with business analysts, architects, and engineers to gather and refine requirements.
  • Participate in agile processes, backlog grooming, sprint planning, and code reviews.
  • Document technical solutions and ensure alignment with architecture guidelines and compliance standards.

Quality, Governance & Compliance

  • Follow secure coding best practices and ensure solutions meet SOX, SOD, GDPR, PCI, ADA, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct unit testing, peer code reviews, and support QA during integration and UAT cycles.
  • Maintain technical documentation, version control, and reusable code repositories.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of hands-on Salesforce development experience in Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Commerce Cloud SFRA, or Astound Accelerator.
  • Strong proficiency with JavaScript, TypeScript, ISML/HMTL, Controllers, Pipelines, and Demandware Script within SFRA framework.
  • Experience integrating Salesforce with external systems via REST/SOAP APIs or middleware platforms.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD, Git version control, and agile development practices.
  • Salesforce Developer certification(s) strongly preferred (SalesForce Certified B2C Commerce Cloud Developer).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate across global teams.

Work Environment: The work environment is indoors in a professional office environment. The floor surfaces are carpeted in office areas and conference rooms with vinyl floor covering typical in hallways, break rooms and computer rooms. Occasionally, they may work in a warehouse environment, as part of a project, and/or in the field with outside sales.

Work Hours: The work schedule is 5 days per week, 8 hours per day. Initial start time may vary, with work hours typically from 8am-5pm. Work hours and shifts are subject to change depending on operating business conditions and needs. The position resides in Orange County but is hybrid with 2 days being remote work.

Physical and Mental Demands: Sedentary, exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, or negligible amounts of force frequently, to move objects. This job also requires constant sitting. Constant use of the upper extremities is required to reach, handle, and position tools and equipment. The employee must know and follow proper safety protocols and maintain a professional and polished appearance. They must be able to efficiently use Microsoft Office Programs and Project Management systems to retrieve information, generate documents, organize project plans/schedules and coordinate meetings. The employee must also be able to maintain and preserve confidentiality of company information, exhibit strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with internal stakeholders, including international affiliates.
