Salesforce QA Automation Engineer – Hybrid (Mostly Remote) – Phoenix, AZ – $71/hr W2

Location: Phoenix, AZ (Hybrid: first 2-3 days onsite, then about once a month)

About the Role
SunSoft Online is recruiting a Salesforce QA Automation Engineer for a state agency IT modernization program in Phoenix. You will lead quality assurance and test automation efforts as legacy state systems move to scalable, cloud-based Salesforce solutions (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, and custom Public Sector Solutions). After the first 2-3 onsite onboarding days, the role is remote with roughly one onsite day per month.

Responsibilities

Automation Framework & Test Execution

  • Build, scale, and maintain reusable Salesforce test automation frameworks (Selenium, Provar, Playwright, Cypress, or UTAM)
  • Automate end-to-end workflows covering complex business processes, custom Apex logic, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Visualforce, and screen flows
  • Develop automated REST/SOAP API tests validating integrations between Salesforce and external systems (ERP, marketing automation, payment gateways)
  • Integrate test suites into CI/CD pipelines (Copado, AutoRABIT, Salesforce DevOps Center, GitHub Actions, Jenkins)

Quality Assurance & Strategy

  • Define test strategies, plans, and acceptance criteria with product owners, architects, and business analysts
  • Own the automated regression suite; run sanity/smoke testing around releases and deployment sprints
  • Manage defects in Jira or Azure DevOps; partner with developers on root-cause analysis
  • Manage sandbox test environments, test data generation, masking, and refreshes

Salesforce-Specific Quality Control

  • Validate Salesforce security models (profiles, roles, permission sets, field-level security, sharing rules)
  • Prepare and adapt automated suites for seasonal Salesforce releases to catch breaking changes early

Required Experience

  • 3-5+ years in QA automation, including 2-3+ years focused specifically on the Salesforce platform
  • Languages: Java, JavaScript, Python, or C#
  • Automation: Provar, Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, UTAM, or Cucumber/BDD
  • API testing: Postman, RestAssured, or SoapUI
  • DevOps: Jira, GitHub/GitLab, Jenkins, Copado, or AutoRABIT
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce architecture, data structures, Apex basics, LWC, and admin capabilities

Nice to Have

  • Salesforce Certified Administrator
  • Salesforce Certified Development Lifecycle and Deployment Architect (or similar platform certifications)
