Job description

The big picture: Axios is a modern media company dedicated to providing trustworthy, award-winning news content in an audience-first format. We are hiring a Salesforce Business Analyst to help build and scale our CRM, reporting, and analytics capabilities, as part of our Revenue Operations team.
Why it matters: This role owns and administers our Salesforce Media Cloud instance, ensuring the platform supports the needs of our revenue organization and serves as a trusted source of data. Beyond day-to-day Salesforce administration, this role will develop reporting, analytics, and insights that turn revenue data into meaningful business intelligence. This role will report to the Senior Director of Revenue Strategy and Operations.
Go deeper: This is an opportunity for someone early in their Salesforce and Revenue Operations career who wants hands-on ownership while expanding their skills across systems, processes, and analytics. You'll partner closely with Revenue Enablement, Client Partnerships, Client Experience, and Business Development teams to solve business challenges, improve revenue processes, and help teams use Salesforce and data more effectively. Responsibilities include:
  • Serve as the day-to-day administrator for Salesforce Media Cloud, managing users, permissions, page layouts, flows, reports, dashboards, validation rules, and automation.
  • Partner with Revenue Strategy & Enablement, Revenue Operations, and sales leadership to translate business needs into scalable Salesforce solutions and operational improvements.
  • Build and optimize a Salesforce environment that supports Axios' evolving revenue organization, sales processes, and go-to-market strategy.
  • Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and recurring analyses that give executives, sales leadership, and cross-functional partners actionable visibility into business performance, sales metrics, and KPIs.
  • Support data migration and ongoing data management efforts, ensuring data quality, integrity, consistency, and governance across Salesforce.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual workflows, streamline processes, and improve operational efficiency across the revenue organization.
  • Support sales planning and performance management, including sales goals, conversion and segment analysis, Quarterly Business Reviews, and weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting.
  • Troubleshoot user and system issues, recommend scalable solutions, and support testing, deployment, and change management for Salesforce releases and enhancements.
  • Create and maintain documentation, best practices, and training materials while supporting user adoption of Salesforce functionality, reporting tools, and revenue processes.

Worthy of your time: Ideal candidates will embody an entrepreneurial spirit, have a passion for the Axios mission, and the following skills and experience:
  • 1-2 years of Salesforce Administrator experience.
  • 1-2 years of experience in sales operations or sales analytics.
  • Salesforce Administrator Certification (ADM-201) or plans to obtain certification within the first year.
  • Experience helping build or significantly expand a Salesforce organization from the ground up, or participating in a major Salesforce implementation.
  • Experience building flows, reports, dashboards, validation rules, and custom objects.
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce security, profiles, permission sets, and data management best practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-service mindset when supporting end users.
  • Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders to gather requirements and improve business processes.

Bonus points if you have:
  • Experience with Salesforce Media Cloud.
  • Experience integrating Salesforce with third-party applications.
  • Experience supporting a Salesforce data migration from one CRM or Salesforce org to another.
  • Experience working in the media industry.

Within your first year, you'll help establish a scalable Salesforce foundation that supports Axios' revenue organization by:
  • Delivering a stable, well-governed Salesforce environment that users trust.
  • Successfully supporting the migration from our legacy CRM while maintaining data quality.
  • Improving automation and reducing manual administrative work across revenue teams.
  • Increasing Salesforce adoption through thoughtful training, documentation, and user support.
  • Partnering with cross-functional teams to improve how they leverage data and analytics to understand their business.

Starting salary for this role is in the range of $65,000 - $75,000 and is dependent on numerous factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, and skills. This range does not include other compensation benefits. Axios' compensation philosophy takes into account cost of labor differentials across the country. Because this is a remote-optional job posting, this salary range takes into account all possible locations within the United States, but candidates will only be eligible for the salary range for their location.
