Sales Representative

Location: Remote
Classification: Exempt – Full Time


ON-SITE HIRING EVENT AUGUST 12th and 13th from 8am - 6pm. Walk-in and see us! 1310 Sheridan St., Chicopee, MA 01022

The Role

RMS is seeking a high-performing, technically strong Sales Representative to drive strategic growth within our industrial services business with a minimum expected travel of 50%

This is not a transactional sales role. This position requires the ability to understand component repair challenges, engage with engineering and operations teams, and position RMS as a value-added partner.

The ideal candidate will bring a combination of technical knowledge, strong industry relationships, and a proven ability to secure and manage high-value business opportunities.

Primary Role Responsibilities
  • Manage the assigned area and target accounts from a Sales & Marketing standpoint, maximizing coverage and opportunities within the US for Chicopee operations.
  • Optimize product penetration with a view towards increasing customer relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • "Pull Through" opportunities for other Company business units, with a consistent focus on adding value to the customer and gaining account market share.
  • Train and be proficient with the products, services, strengths weaknesses, value attributes and competitive differentiation of same.
  • Develops assigned account for US:
    • Assist in leading the development with the local sales channel
    • Utilize account plans which include profiling accounts and setting account objective
  • Meet company gross margin objectives
    • Understand competitive pricing levels
    • Achieve target margins (EBIT) using the prospect model to maintain price levels
  • Report on general and specific market climate with assigned region.
  • Report on immediate competitive situations.
  • Submit timely expense reports, per Company procedures.
  • Maintain regular customer/sales contact via phone, e-mail, etc.
  • Travel as required to properly cover assigned region, 40-60% travel is not unusual.

Required Experience & Qualifications
  • Experience selling turbomachinery services and products in the energy market.
  • Understanding of product, product management requirements, selling approaches, the Company business structure and its associated products & offerings.
  • Should be proficient in all levels of the sales process – prospecting, strategy development, quoting, negotiating, and closing an opportunity.
  • Sales experience with turbomachinery services and products in the energy market is desirable Knowledge of Microsoft software, and CRM Software.
  • Must be a proactive self-starter and thrive in a fast-paced organization with minimal guidance.

Required Education
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or equivalent years of outside sales experience within industrial services, machining, or manufacturing environments

Additional Requirements
  • Strong technical background in rotating equipment.
  • Proven track record of developing new business.
  • Established industry relationships within oil & gas, power generation, or related sectors preferred
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Self-directed, accountable, and results-oriented
  • Position is REMOTE
  • Full-time position with a minimum expectation of 40 hours per week; additional hours, evenings, or weekends may be required based on project demands
  • Ability to participate in company random or customer-specific drug and alcohol screenings and background checks
  • Ability to act professionally under stressful situations
  • Ability to understand, read, write, and speak English
  • Knowledge of Microsoft software, and CRM software.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • RMS may maintain government contracts that impose specific requirements on employees assigned to those projects. Employees who do not meet those requirements may be reassigned or deemed ineligible for certain assignments

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this position, the employee may enter shop or field service environments with exposure to moving mechanical parts. Although work areas are generally maintained in a clean and safe condition, machining operations may generate moderate noise levels.
