Job description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Outside Salesperson is expected to interact with existing and potential customers to maintain favorable relationships and increase the company's sales of products and services. The incumbent should be able to resolve customer issues/problems and develop new prospects. The Outside Salesperson should also be familiar with all sales processes and procedures; be knowledgeable of the auto parts industry; and have excellent organizational and communication skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform daily sales calls on a prescribed route via driving a vehicle;
  • Responsible for presentation and demonstrations of new products;
  • Present and maintain customer programs, credits, and core returns;
  • Present pricing and product change updates, obtain catalogs, and distribute price sheets to customers;
  • Prospect and develop new accounts;
  • Resolve customer issues and/or problems in a timely and effective manner;
  • Organize customer clinics as required;
  • Attend monthly Sales Meetings and additional training seminars as required to maintain current trends;
  • Monitor customer account balances and collect monies owed;
  • Maintain customer sales records;
  • Must report to work in a continuous timely manner;
  • Maintain a valid driver's license and driving record which meets underwriting standards;
  • Responsible for meeting all criteria and policies as set forth in the Company Employee Handbook, Driver's Handbook, and Fleet Safety Policy;
  • Assists in special projects as requested.
