Position Overview
The Manager, Growth Outbound Sales is responsible for leading, motivating, and developing a team of Growth Outbound Account Executives to achieve and exceed revenue goals within an assigned region or market segment. This role oversees daily sales activities, drives sales performance through strategic planning and coaching, and partners cross-functionally to support revenue growth. Success requires strong leadership, attention to detail, B2B sales expertise, and experience managing high-performing sales teams in a fast-paced environment.

Sales Leadership & Team Development
• Lead, mentor, and coach a team of Account Executives to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals.
• Set clear performance expectations, KPIs, and individual goals.
• Conduct weekly/bi-weekly one-on-ones focused on professional development and sales performance.
• Deliver ongoing coaching on Paylocity's sales process ("The Paylosophy") to maximize team effectiveness.
• Monitor daily and weekly activity metrics, pipeline management, and goal alignment.
• Conduct performance reviews and create individualized career development plans.
Sales Strategy & Execution
• Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue and growth targets within the assigned market.
• Identify and pursue opportunities for new customer acquisition, account expansion, and upselling.
• Ensure the team proactively manages and advances pipeline opportunities.
• Review and adjust action plans to meet or exceed sales forecasts.
Customer & Partner Relationship Management
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, prospects, and partners.
• Serve as an escalation point for complex or high-priority sales opportunities.
• Promote a customer-centric culture to ensure exceptional service throughout the sales process.
Sales Operations & Reporting
• Track team and individual performance, generating accurate sales reports, forecasts, and performance summaries.
• Leverage CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) to manage productivity, pipeline accuracy, and customer interactions.
• Analyze sales data and market trends to identify areas for process improvement and revenue optimization.
• Provide leadership and senior management with timely updates on performance and market conditions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Collaborate with partners across the organization including Implementation, Marketing, Learning & Development, Talent Acquisition, Service, SDR/BDR, Risk, TPA, and other internal teams.
• Support the development of effective sales collateral, product messaging, and proposals.
• Provide customer and competitive insights to Product and Marketing teams.
Market & Industry Expertise
• Stay informed on industry trends, competitor strategies, and market dynamics.
• Participate in industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to increase brand presence and drive demand.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred; Military Service accepted.
  • 5+ years of experience in Sales or business operations.
  • 2-3 years of sales management experience preferred, including coaching and developing sales teams.
  • Experience with payroll, HR, and time & attendance solutions; experience with major account or complex organizations preferred.
  • Proven track record of developing successful, high-performing sales representatives.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and standard business applications (MS Office).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics.
  • Ability to travel and work in a virtual/fast-paced environment.

The pay range for this position is $70,000 - $129,000/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual bonus and restricted stock unit grant based on individual performance in addition to a full range of benefits outlined here.
