This role is ideal for someone with experience selling security cameras, access control, low voltage services, structured cabling, audiovisual solutions, IT services, or other commercial technology solutions.
The Technology Solutions Sales Consultant will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building strong client relationships, understanding customer needs, and recommending the right technology solutions. This position requires someone who can communicate professionally with both technical and non-technical customers, follow up consistently, and work closely with internal teams to move opportunities from initial conversation to closed business.
Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities for technology solutions, including security cameras, access control, low voltage, structured cabling, audiovisual, and IT services.
  • Build and maintain relationships with decision-makers such as business owners, school leaders, IT directors, operations managers, facility managers, and purchasing contacts.
  • Conduct discovery conversations to understand customer needs, pain points, budgets, timelines, and project requirements.
  • Recommend technology solutions based on customer needs and company service offerings.
  • Explain solutions clearly and professionally to customers, including cameras, access control, cabling, audiovisual, and IT-related services.
  • Generate leads through calls, emails, networking, referrals, LinkedIn outreach, customer visits, and follow-up with existing contacts.
  • Work with internal technical and operations teams to gather project details and support accurate quotes, proposals, and scopes of work.
  • Follow up consistently with prospects and customers to move opportunities through the sales pipeline.
  • Maintain accurate notes, customer information, activity updates, and deal progress in the company CRM.
  • Assist with proposal follow-up, pricing conversations, customer communication, and sales documentation.
  • Attend customer meetings, site visits, vendor meetings, networking events, or industry events as needed.
  • Meet or exceed sales activity goals, pipeline goals, and revenue targets.
  • Stay informed about company services, industry trends, customer needs, and technology solutions.
Qualifications
  • Previous sales experience in technology, security, low voltage, IT services, telecommunications, audiovisual, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience selling one or more of the following is strongly preferred:
    • Security camera systems
    • Access control systems
    • Low voltage services
    • Structured cabling
    • Audiovisual solutions
    • Managed IT services
    • Commercial technology installations
  • Strong communication, follow-up, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to ask effective discovery questions and understand customer needs.
  • Comfortable making outbound calls, sending outreach messages, attending meetings, and following up consistently.
  • Ability to explain technology solutions in a way that is easy for customers to understand.
  • Ability to work independently while also coordinating with internal teams.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple leads, opportunities, and customer conversations at once.
  • Experience using a CRM system such as HubSpot, Salesforce, Zoho, or a similar platform preferred.
  • Professional appearance and communication style.
  • Valid drivers license and ability to travel locally for customer meetings or site visits, if required.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience selling to schools, government agencies, commercial businesses, churches, nonprofits, or multi-site organizations.
  • Existing relationships in education, facilities, IT, security, construction, or commercial business sectors.
  • Experience with bid opportunities, proposals, public sector sales, or project-based sales.
  • Familiarity with camera brands, access control platforms, cabling projects, or technology installation services.
