Position Summary

The Catering Sales Manager drives food & beverage sales revenue at the Palm Beach County Convention Center. Primary focus will be on exhibitor catering, retail activations, Subcontractor and SBE partnership activations, small group business, short-term and single-day events from initial inquiry through contract execution and event delivery. 

This role pays an annual salary range of $55,000-$60,000.

Benefits for Full-Time roles: Health, Dental and Vision Insurance, 401(k) Savings Plan, 401(k) matching, and Paid Time Off (vacation days, sick days, and 11 holidays).

This position will remain open until October 16, 2026.

About the Venue

The Palm Beach County Convention Center is a multi-purpose facility in West Palm Beach, Florida, managed by the Oak View Group. The Center features a 100,000 square-foot exhibit hall, a 22,000 square-foot ballroom, and 21,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, as well as connecting to the 400-room Hilton West Palm Beach.

Responsibilities

Exhibitor Sales & Retail Activations

  • Lead exhibitor catering lifecycle from order coordination through execution. Maximize retail revenue through creative sales programming 

Sales & Revenue

  • Pursue and develop small group, short-term, single-day, and pop-up catering business
  • Prepare written proposals, evaluate business value of prospective events and clients, and initiate contractual arrangements
  • Oversee the full sales process from inquiry through booking, ensuring client needs are met with professionalism and creativity
  • Achieve established sales goals and objectives

Contracts & Documentation

  • Negotiate, author, and submit finalized contracts and BEOs to clients and internal staff
  • Prepare sales folders, sales kits, and client correspondence
  • Ensure all required documentation is received from clients in a timely manner
  • Verify payments are received according to contracted schedules and follow up on outstanding balances
  • Enter and maintain complete and accurate information in the booking system

Event Operations & Communication

  • Communicate daily with F&B, culinary, catering, and operations staff regarding client needs and expectations
  • Assist with post-event follow-up to ensure all guest experience issues have been addressed

Relationship Management & Prospecting

  • Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers and influencers through professional, courteous, and ethical interaction
  • Independently source and pursue outside networking opportunities through industry resources, community events, and prospect-facing special events
  • Maintain client database and conduct consistent follow-up via in-person, phone, email, and other channels

  • Respond to all leads within OVG standards response time requirements

Qualifications
  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in hospitality, catering, event coordination, or sales support preferred.

  • Demonstrated proficiency and successful experience in catering sales generation, contract negotiation and pricing, event scheduling, training, catering, banquets, and menu development.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in computer applications (Microsoft Office programs with an emphasis on creating Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, and email); working knowledge of POS systems.

  • Ability to work a varied schedule, which may include weekends and evenings, as required to ensure an outcome.

  • Ability to adhere to a high standard of business etiquette and professional verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to consistently represent the company in a professional, positive, and knowledgeable manner.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
