Position Summary
This role serves as a technical estimating and customer-facing support function, leading the development of accurate quotations for complex manufacturing projects. The Sales Engineer works closely with internal teams and customers to evaluate manufacturability, define costs, and ensure profitable execution.
This position blends estimating, technical analysis, and account support, making it ideal for someone with experience in manufacturing cost analysis, quoting, or technical
Key Responsibilities
  • Review customer drawings, specifications, and technical requirements to develop accurate cost estimates
  • Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams to validate processes, materials, and labor assumptions
  • Prepare and deliver detailed customer quotations aligned with company pricing strategy
  • Analyze differences between quoted and actual costs; recommend pricing or process improvements
  • Maintain customer and quoting data within ERP systems
  • Evaluate tooling, fixtures, and equipment needs and incorporate cost impacts into quotes
  • Participate in contract review to ensure smooth transition to production
  • Support customers with manufacturability discussions and technical clarification
  • Identify follow-on opportunities within existing accounts
  • Assist with material pricing, cost modeling, and technical problem-solving across departments

Qualifications
  • Experience in estimating, sales engineering, or technical account management within manufacturing
  • Strong understanding of machining and/or metal fabrication processes
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and assess manufacturability
  • Experience with ERP systems and cost analysis
  • Strong organizational and communication skills

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field preferred, not required
  • 5+ years of experience in Sales Engineering, Estimating, or Account Management in a manufacturing environment
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
