Job description

Job Summary: 
 

The Sales Engineer is a customer-facing technical role that supports the Director of Sales and customers in developing and implementing custom-engineered solutions. This position serves as a key interface between customers and internal Engineering, R&D, and Quality teams. The Sales Engineer is responsible for understanding customer needs, participating in product and print development, and ensuring technical alignment with customer specifications. This role also contributes to the quoting process, engineering reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives. 

 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
 

- Support the Director of Sales in developing customer-specific solutions. 

- Interface directly with customers to gather technical requirements and provide engineered feedback. 

- Review, modify, and tolerance engineering prints in collaboration with internal teams. 

- Participate in design reviews, material selection, and feasibility assessments. 

- Learn and apply knowledge of acoustics, materials, and manufacturing processes. 

- Coordinate with R&D and Engineering to support new product launches and technical problem-solving. 

- Assist in the RFQ and quoting process with accurate technical inputs. 

- Maintain customer records, technical documentation, and updates in ERP and CRM systems. 

- Use internal ERP tools (Oracle-based) and Globalshop for pricing, order entry, and tracking. 

- Conduct limited travel with the Director of Sales for key customer visits or technical meetings. 

- Ensure all activities comply with company QMS and EMS policies. 

- Other duties as assigned. 

 
Qualifications/Skills/Experience Required: 
 

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or related field preferred) 

- Engineering experience helpful but not required; attitude and aptitude are essential 

- Ability to learn acoustics, materials, and CAD-based engineering practices 

- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills 

- Ability to interpret and update technical drawings and specifications 

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with ERP/CRM systems preferred 

- Willingness to learn Oracle-based ERP and Globalshop 

- Team-oriented and proactive with strong attention to detail 

- Limited travel required (occasional customer visits with Sales Director)
