What is a sales development software?

Sales Development Software is a digital tool designed to help sales teams identify, engage, and nurture potential customers (leads) more efficiently. It automates tasks such as lead generation, outreach, follow-up, and tracking interactions, enabling sales representatives to focus on building relationships and closing deals. These platforms often integrate with CRM systems, provide analytics, and help streamline the sales process to increase productivity and conversion rates.

How does a sales development software role typically interact with sales and marketing teams?

Professionals in Sales Development Software roles often serve as a vital link between the sales and marketing teams. They collaborate closely with marketing to understand campaign goals and messaging, while also working with sales to qualify leads and ensure smooth handoffs. Success in this role often requires clear communication, sharing insights on lead quality, and providing feedback on prospect engagement. This collaborative approach helps optimize the sales funnel and drives more effective outreach strategies.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a sales development representative in software, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Sales Development Representative (SDR) in software, you need strong communication skills, a solid understanding of sales processes, and ideally a background in business or technology. Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) platforms like Salesforce, sales enablement tools, and sometimes relevant sales certifications are commonly required. Outstanding SDRs excel at active listening, resilience, and time management to build rapport and efficiently qualify leads. These skills and tools are vital for generating high-quality leads, supporting the sales pipeline, and driving revenue growth in a competitive software market.

It offers opportunities for skill development in communication, sales strategies, and technology, often with clear performance metrics and potential for career advancement. The role typically requires strong interpersonal skills and familiarity with sales tools, making it a viable career path in sales and business development.

Many companies offer training and do not require extensive prior experience, making it accessible for recent graduates or those new to sales technology.

Paul Gough Media

Kissimmee, FL โ€ข On-site

Job description

Who Are We?

Paul Gough Media helps private healthcare business owners grow through marketing, education, and innovative AI solutions.

We’re expanding our sales team and looking for a driven Sales Development Representative who wants to build a career in sales while playing a direct role in the growth of the company.

This is a high-energy role for someone who enjoys being on the phone, likes working toward clear targets, and isn’t afraid of rejection.

You’ll be based in our Celebration, Florida office, working alongside an ambitious team that values performance, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Your Role

As a Sales Development Representative, your job is to create qualified opportunities for our sales team.

You’ll connect with private healthcare business owners, understand what’s happening inside their business, identify potential challenges and opportunities, and determine whether Paul Gough Media can help.

Your goal is to take an initial conversation and turn it into a qualified appointment with one of our sales consultants.

You’ll work across inbound leads, previous prospects, event attendees, referrals, social media leads, and opportunities within our existing database.

This is a high-volume sales environment, so activity, consistency, and follow-up matter.

What You’ll Do
  • Make approximately 150–200 outbound calls every day.
  • Respond quickly to new inbound leads.
  • Re-engage previous prospects and older opportunities.
  • Speak confidently with clinic owners and decision-makers.
  • Ask effective questions to understand their business and current challenges.
  • Qualify prospects based on fit, need, and opportunity.
  • Book qualified appointments for the sales team.
  • Follow up consistently with prospects across phone, text, email, and social media.
  • Manage your sales pipeline and maintain accurate CRM records.
  • Work toward weekly and monthly call, conversation, and appointment targets.
  • Track your conversion rates and identify where you can improve.
  • Take responsibility for your own performance.
Who We’re Looking For

You’ll do well in this role if you are:

  • Driven – you want to achieve more than the minimum.
  • Competitive – targets motivate you rather than intimidate you.
  • Resilient – you can hear “no” and make the next call without losing momentum.
  • Confident – you’re comfortable speaking with business owners.
  • Coachable – you welcome feedback and put it into practice.
  • Consistent – you understand that success in sales comes from repeated daily action.
  • Ambitious – you want to develop your skills and progress into more advanced sales roles.
  • Organized – you stay on top of your pipeline and follow-up activity.

Previous experience in sales, business development, appointment setting, lead generation, recruitment, or another customer-facing environment is preferred.

Experience using CRM software or working with a sales pipeline is an advantage.

What You’ll Receive

$45,000–$50,000 base salary, depending on experience.

Performance-based commission, allowing you to increase your earnings as your results improve.

Clear career progression into more advanced sales positions for strong performers.

15 days paid vacation, plus selected company holidays.

A steady flow of opportunities generated through our marketing campaigns, events, social media, educational content, referrals, and existing database.

The Opportunity

This role is ideal for someone who wants to build a serious career in sales.

We’re not looking for someone who simply wants to make calls and clock out.

We want someone who wants to improve their conversion rate, beat their previous month, earn more commission, develop stronger sales skills, and eventually progress into a larger sales role.

If you’re hungry to learn, motivated by numbers, and ready to prove yourself in a growing company, we’d love to hear from you.

Submit your resume along with a short introduction explaining why you’d be a strong fit.
