Sales Development Manager

Level AI

Bodega Bay, CA

Full-time

Re-posted 17 days ago

Job description

Location: Mountain View, CA onsite

Reports to: VP of Marketing

About Level AI: Level AI is a Series C AI company based in Mountain View. We build the platform that turns contact center conversations into intelligence the rest of the business can act on. Quality, analytics, coaching, automation, and AI agents all run on the same customer data.

Role Overview: This role builds and runs the engine that feeds our pipeline. You'll hire, coach, and scale a team of SDRs turning cold outbound into qualified meetings with enterprise CX and contact center leaders, at a moment when those buyers are rebuilding their stack around AI.

Why join us:

  • Build the team, not just run it. You're not inheriting a playbook—you're writing it. Hire the reps, design the process, decide what a great SDR looks like here.

  • A direct line to leadership. You'll work onsite with our CEO, CTO, and go-to-market leaders. Your team's results are visible, and so is your judgment.

  • High agency, low bureaucracy. We move fast and reward agency and bias to action. Bring an idea for a new segment, a new comp structure, a hosted event, and you can run it that week. Ownership and curiosity get rewarded, not routed through committee.

  • Build and shape careers. Take hungry SDRs, coach them through their first meetings, first opportunities, first promotion, and watch them become AEs. We build SDR-to-AE careers here, and want a manager who is excited to influence individual careers.

  • The right market, the right time. Enterprise buyers are rebuilding their contact centers around AI right now. Leading a team selling into that shift early will compound for the rest of your career.

What you'll do:
  • Hire, onboard, and coach a team of SDRs into consistent pipeline producers

  • Set the KPIs—activity, meetings booked, pipeline sourced; ensure targets are consistently met

  • Design and sharpen outbound and inbound sequences based on what the data says is working

  • Partner with Marketing on lead quality, campaign strategy, and messaging

  • Run regular call reviews, email reviews, and live coaching

  • Track and analyze SDR team performance; report on pipeline impact to Sales leadership

  • Build the promotion path: identify who's ready for AE and get them there

  • Own the SDR playbook and the tooling stack behind it

  • Champion a culture of accountability, learning, and high performance

What we're looking for:
  • 3+ years managing SDR or Business Development teams, ideally in a B2B SaaS environment

  • Proven track record of exceeding pipeline and meeting-setting goals

  • Strong coaching, mentorship, and leadership skills

  • Deep understanding of outbound prospecting best practices (phone, email, LinkedIn, social selling)

  • CRM and sales engagement tool expertise (e.g., Salesforce, Apollo, Gong, ZoomInfo)

  • Strong data orientation — comfortable using metrics to drive decisions

  • Excellent communicator, highly organized, and detail-oriented

  • Thrive in a fast-paced, early-stage environment

Preferred:

  • Experience in Enterprise SaaS or AI-focused companies

  • Background in building SDR-to-AE career paths

  • Familiarity with Account-Based Marketing (ABM) strategies

Perks & benefits:

  • Health, vision, and dental coverage

  • Flexible PTO

  • Catered lunch twice a week, plus team dinners and offsites

  • Parental leave

  • 401(k)

Compensation: Market-competitive, based on your experience and skill set.
