Neu-Ion seeks an experienced Business Development Manager to join our growing company specializing in high-purity water systems. The candidate can work in a technical sales environment. The primary role of the Neu-Ion Business Development Manager is to sell new and existing client projects, as well as new service agreements, within the assigned market verticals and territories. This position will be counted on to act independently and take ownership of company results, including the individual sales quota. The performance in this will play a crucial role in Neu-Ion's success. While the exact responsibilities may vary, the main duties of the Business Development Manager can be summarized as follows:


Core Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Be a "hunter", focused on selling to existing dormant and new accounts. Some existing customer accounts will also be assigned. 
  • Follow up on qualified project leads from Initial Opportunity through Closed Won
  • Follow the Neu-Ion Sales Process, including maintaining the accuracy of data in CRM
  • Create and close new opportunities from current customers, including new or expanded Service Agreements within assigned market verticals
  • Conduct discovery meetings to understand customer needs and requirements and build a compelling quote/proposal/bid
  • Develop a sales pipeline to achieve quarterly and annual sales quotas consistently
  • Review project documents and drawings for potential opportunities, including contractor bids, and work with the Estimator on pricing as needed.
  • Prospect potential clients and customers using various methods, including the telephone, email, LinkedIn, Sales Navigator, referrals, networking, drop-ins, etc. 
  • Conduct meetings, virtual and in person, to create new opportunities to sell solutions
  • Follow up with Projects not won by the Contractor partner to determine who won the bid/RFP and "rewire" the project to work with Neu-Ion (as a subcontractor).
  • Work with the sales team and Estimator to complete project estimates and proposals
  • Work as a liaison to the Project Manager to help facilitate project start-ups after the PO is received, successful for turnovers
  • Follow up on awarded bids to determine the winning contractor
  • Build and nurture key contact/COI relationships tied to assigned customer verticals, including achieving KPIs for key contact meetings (documented in CRM)
  • Attend company events and trade shows related to assigned customer verticals, acting as a Neu-Ion ambassador
  • Gain knowledge of the market, including key competitors
  • Maintain personal scorecard and review related KPIs for 1-on-1s with Sales Leader
  • Assist in market research and develop prospect lists for assigned verticals
  • Assist on ad hoc projects as needed

Requirements

  Qualifications:

5+ years of business-to-business sales experience in consultative/contract, business development role

Proven experience generating daily sales activities via telephone, emails, LinkedIn, networking, drop-ins, etc. 

Sales experience in commercial water purification, plumbing, electrical, or any mechanical building systems a plus

Experience selling healthcare care verticals, including hospitals a plus, and/or R&D lab spaces in Life Sciences

Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask by managing the needs of the customer

Customer service experience and ability to negotiate effectively
