Summary/Objectives
The Account Executive - Tier 1 (AE I) is responsible for driving revenue growth through daily prospecting within an assigned territory, maintaining and expanding an existing customer base, and consistently meeting or exceeding monthly sales quotas with acceptable profitability. This role focuses on identifying customer business challenges, delivering consultative solutions, and managing opportunities through the full sales cycle while demonstrating strong product and solution knowledge.
The Account Executive - Tier 1 (AE I) role is an entry-level outside sales position within RJ Young's sales organization and serves as the foundation for long-term career advancement.
Essential Functions

  • Prospect daily within assigned territory to generate new sales opportunities
  • Maintain, upgrade, and expand existing customer relationships
  • Plan and manage daily activities, territory strategy, and database accuracy
  • Demonstrate equipment and continuously improve demo and presentation skills
  • Conduct needs assessments, qualifications, proposals, and QBRs
  • Present and close sales opportunities
  • Manage customer conflicts and objections professionally
  • Complete required paperwork, reporting, and forecasting
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development

The Account Executive - Tier 1 will be required to have working knowledge and skills in the following solution areas:

Sales Performance
  • Close enough business weekly to stay on pace for quota (typically 1-2 deals per week)
  • Meet or exceed monthly sales objectives as set by Sales Management

  • Conduct equipment walkthroughs, needs assessments, and site surveys
  • Dress professionally and appropriately

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands
This position requires frequent communication, standing, walking, and occasional lifting associated with customer meetings and equipment demonstrations.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Full-time, Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
