Job description

SubsidiaryVulcan Steel ProductsOverview

Lead the management of the Inside Sales Group with the support of the entire sales management team.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee all aspects of the sales cycle from order entry to shipments for all of Vulcan through the management of an Inside Sales Team of approx. 9 (direct reports), including but not limited to:
  • Establish and execute volume and financial objectives for your entire team.
  • Establish a plan to meet these goals with the Inside Sales team.
  • Keep orders moving through addressing accounting and credit holds, getting light loads filled out, managing backlog and overdue shipments, etc...
  • Educate, train and track Inside Sales team on the fundamentals of the desk, cross-selling and additional training/development as needed
  • Work within the current and future ERP and CRM systems to develop, track, and analyze key sales analytics as it relates to entire sales team.
  • Manage timecards, absences, vacation schedules in order to maintain adequate coverage to support sales from the inside desk.
  • Be an active participant in strategic planning with the entire sales team, including the execution of the forecast, growth of our business and providing market information
  • Collaborate and plan with all other departments including Customer Service, Production, and Finance to ensure customer-related issues are addressed along with pushing our overall sales execution plans.
  • Track and maintain key measurables including (but not limited to): RMAs, call logs, customer satisfaction surveys, SOPs and audits.
  • Meet daily and weekly to review open orders, on-going bids and any other open items.
Qualifications

Required

  • Strong aptitude for business managing the Inside Sales Team through the entire sales, manufacturing, shipping life-cycle.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to hold teammates accountable.
  • Desire and ability to grow and develop teammates, in addition to self
  • High energy, self-starter, well-organized, and dedicated to continuous improvement
  • Ability to establish and meet goals and objectives, in a timely manner
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with all levels in business
  • Proficient in Email, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and navigating ERP systems

Preferred

  • 4-year College degree in business, marketing, or related field
  • Prior knowledge with Vulcan Steel products.
  • Successful sales record of driving sales through measurables (i.e. calls, follow-up, etc...)
