Summary

The Instrumentation Technician is a field-based, customer-facing role that installs, services, calibrates, and maintains TriNova Instrumentation at customer sites with minimal supervision.

             Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.


Essential Functions
  • Calibrates, troubleshoots, and repairs a variety of flow meters, pressure transmitters, level transmitters, temperature transmitters, and valves to meet customer’s requirements.
  • Determine possible system faults prior to departing for on-site service calls to determine test equipment and spare parts that may be required.
  • Visually inspects, tests, and recommends changes to ensure required installation meets manufacturer’s standards for operation.
  • Observe processes, apply and develop tests and procedures to detect proper or malfunctioning operation of equipment and discuss findings with customer or sales representative, make changes or  adjustments to improve operation or offer a course of action to resolve problems.
  • Assembles, repairs and/or replaces related instrumentation and associated equipment.
  • Provide accurate, professional, and timely documentation of service calls.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and principals, as well as with TriNova Sales, Management, Account Managers, and Engineers providing information regarding the nature of problems, course of action to be taken and schedule for completion of work.
  • Conduct training for customers.
  • Assist with training of less experienced Field Service Technicians.
  • Assist the customer via telephone with product information and problem solving.
  • Develop and maintain a level of knowledge of all TriNova products.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities
  • Knowledge of electronics, process diagrams, and test equipment (multi-meters, loop calibrators, oscilloscopes, etc.)
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Sales skills (ability to promote the value of services)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to lift, push, and/or pull up to 60 lbs.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks while standing, sitting, or kneeling with or without accommodation
  • Ability to understand and follow moderately complex oral and written instructions
  • Able to work independently and within a team environment and contribute to the success of the department
  • Strong multi-tasking, analytical, and problem-solving skills

  • Associate degree in a technical or related field OR a combination of education and experience; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 2 – 5 years of related experience
Travel
  • Up to 75% travel, primarily local during normal business hours.
  • Occasional overnight and weekend travel
  • Must be able to transport self to various facility sites as required (via company provided service vehicle)
