Job Description Summary
The Revenue Manager is responsible for overseeing the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of revenue accounting in accordance with U.S. GAAP, ASC 606, and internal company policies. This role partners closely with regional finance teams, business units, Sales, Legal, and Operations to ensure proper revenue recognition, strong internal controls, and high quality financial reporting. The Revenue Manager will also support internal and external audits, assess complex revenue arrangements, and contribute to ongoing process improvements that enhance the company's financial infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Revenue Recognition & Compliance
  • Serve as the primary subject matter expert for revenue related questions across assigned regions, providing guidance on U.S. GAAP, ASC 606, and internal accounting policies.

  • Ensure timely and accurate revenue recognition for all products and services, including software, subscriptions, multielement arrangements, and bundled offerings.

  • Review, assess, and approve complex customer contracts to identify performance obligations, pricing considerations, and the appropriate revenue treatment.

  • Prepare clear and technically sound accounting memos documenting contract analyses, conclusions, and relevant accounting guidance.

Internal Controls & Audit Support
  • Maintain strong internal control processes and ensure full compliance with SOX requirements related to revenue.

  • Identify and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and control across the revenue process.

  • Support internal and external financial audits by preparing schedules, responding to auditor inquiries, and ensuring supporting documentation is complete and accurate.

CrossFunctional Collaboration & Strategic Support
  • Partner with Sales, Legal, Operations, and Finance to ensure contracts are structured and documented in accordance with accounting requirements and company policies.

  • Provide education and training to nonfinancial stakeholders to increase understanding of revenue recognition rules and their impact on business decisions.

  • Participate in system enhancements and implementations related to ERP platforms and revenue automation tools, contributing functional expertise.

Pricing & Standalone Selling Price (SSP) Management
  • Perform annual pricing and data analyses to establish and maintain standalone selling prices (SSPs) for all product and service lines.

  • Monitor SSP compliance throughout the year and update methodologies as needed.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting; CPA preferred.

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in revenue accounting, controllership, or technical accounting within a global organization.

  • Strong, applied knowledge of U.S. GAAP and ASC 606.

  • Proven ability to interpret and communicate complex accounting rules in simple, practical terms for nonfinancial audiences.

  • Experience working with ERP systems and revenue recognition automation tools; familiarity with system implementations a plus.

  • High level of analytical and problem solving skills, with strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated experience drafting technical memos and presenting findings to leadership.
