Global Power Components is a privately held, growing manufacturer of UL heavy gauge steel fuel tanks, trailers, large generator enclosures and modular metal enclosures for housing fully equipped electrical distribution and control equipment. Global Power produces weld assemblies, fabricated metal buildings, and large complex assemblies of power equipment.

Position Summary:
Global Power Components is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Sales Account Manager to join our Sales team. In this role, you will initially focus on inside sales, managing, and growing relationships with an established book of OEM and distributor accounts while maintaining an active quote pipeline. This position is an excellent opportunity for a driven sales professional with 3–5 years of inside sales experience who is eager to develop into an outside sales and business development role over time. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and brings a strong understanding of customer specifications and technical requirements. Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities:
Account Management
  • Assume ownership of existing OEM and distributor customer accounts within the team, ensuring a seamless transition and continuity of service.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts, building and maintaining strong, long-term relationships.
  • Proactively communicate with customers to understand project timelines, upcoming needs, and changes to specifications.
  • Address customer inquiries, resolve issues promptly, and consistently deliver a high level of customer service.
Quoting & Inside Sales
  • Manage and stay on top of an active quote pipeline, ensuring all quotes are accurate, timely, and aligned with customer specifications.
  • Review customer drawings, specs, and technical documentation to develop accurate quotations in coordination with engineering and operations teams.
  • Track quote activity, follow up on open opportunities, and maintain organized records of customer communications and project updates.
  • Coordinate with internal teams including Project Management, Engineering, and Production to ensure quoted scope is achievable and competitive.
Business Development (Growth Path)
  • As the role evolves, expand responsibilities to include outside sales activities and proactive business development with new and existing accounts.
  • Identify opportunities to grow wallet share within assigned accounts and introduce customers to additional GPC product lines and capabilities.
  • Represent GPC at customer sites, industry events, and trade shows as needed.
  • Travel 25–50% depending on customer needs and business development activities.

Required Qualifications:
  • 3–5 years of inside sales experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage customer accounts and maintain a high standard of customer service.
  • Ability to read and interpret customer specifications, engineering drawings, or technical documentation.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with strong organizational and follow-through skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Willingness and ability to travel 25–50% as required by customer needs.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with OEM or distributor customers in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
  • Background in electrical equipment, enclosures, switchgear, or related power/industrial products.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, CRM platforms, or quoting/estimating software.
  • Demonstrated interest in growing into an outside sales or business development capacity.
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
