DESCRIPTION: 27J Schools is currently seeking a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to provide direct behavioral support and intervention services to students under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). The RBT will support students with autism and related developmental needs within a 27J managed separate school classroom at the Bob Sakata Education Campus. The RBT implements individualized behavior plans, supports skill development, and contributes to a collaborative team focused on positive student outcomes.
SALARY: Classified Grade N, $23.20 per hour to start, depending on relevant experience. 8.5 hours per day, Tuesday through Friday, 9 month work schedule, paid over 12 months. Position is eligible for benefits.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), behavior intervention plans (BIPs), and communication supports
  • Provide direct support to students individually and in small groups under teacher and BCBA supervision
  • Use evidence-based strategies (e.g., visual supports, structured teaching, prompting, reinforcement)
  • Support students with sensory regulation needs using planned strategies and tools
  • Identify and facilitate peer relationships
  • Assist with personal care needs (e.g., toileting, feeding, hygiene) as required
  • Collect data on student progress, behavior, and skill acquisition as directed
  • De-escalate students as needed using approved CPI measures, as well as following the prescribed Behavior Intervention Plan.
  • Attend training as required by the Building Principal, Special Education Teacher, and/or Director of Special Education.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
    QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as Behavior Intervention Plans, IEPs, and staff and student handbooks.
  • Ability to collect data and simple correspondences.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to pass a post offer physical upon request.
  • Must be able to pass a Colorado and Federal Bureau of Investigation background check.
  • Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Certification is required. Continual completed requirements for RBT licensure as per guidelines as defined by the BCBA Board.
    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience working with students with with autism and related developmental needs
  • Bilingual preferred but not required
