Job description

The Opportunity

Full Throttle Marine is expanding to Florida's First Coast—and we're building our certified technician roster now, ahead of the 2026 market launch. If you're a certified outboard technician in the Jacksonville or Saint Augustine area ready to work on your own terms and build a sustainable, independent service practice, this is your window. We're launching a new territory from the ground up, and we want the right people in place before the bookings open.

First in gets first call. Submit your credentials now.

The Market

The First Coast corridor stretches from Jacksonville south through Ponte Vedra, Saint Augustine Beach, and the Saint Johns River basin—one of the most active recreational boating regions in Northeast Florida. The Intracoastal Waterway, Nassau Sound, and Saint Johns River deliver year-round boating volume with a customer base that matches our thriving Tampa Bay market.

Service Area Includes:

  • Saint Augustine & Saint Augustine Beach
  • Ponte Vedra Beach & Palm Valley
  • Jacksonville & Fleming Island
  • Amelia Island & Nassau Sound
  • Intracoastal Waterway and Saint Johns River corridors
What You'll Do
  • Perform scheduled outboard service at 50, 100, and 200 hour intervals per Yamaha and Mercury manufacturer specifications
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on Yamaha and Mercury outboard engines
  • Perform winterization and spring commissioning services
  • Conduct premium detailing services when bundled with mechanical work
  • Deliver photo inspection reports to customers following every service call
  • Represent the Full Throttle Marine brand with professionalism at every dock
What You Bring Required
  • Current ABYC certification OR Yamaha Marine certification OR Mercury Marine certification (or equivalent factory training)
  • Proven hands-on experience with Yamaha and/or Mercury outboard engines
  • Own tools and reliable transport to service locations
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong attention to detail and a customer-first mindset
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Preferred
  • Multiple certifications (ABYC + OEM factory certification)
  • Experience across a range of outboard horsepower (25HP–400HP)
  • Familiarity with marine electronics and GPS/chartplotter systems
  • Experience with boat detailing and hull care
  • Existing knowledge of the Saint Johns River and Northeast Florida waterways
What We Offer
  • Above-market compensation on flat-rate service tickets
  • Consistent, pre-booked work—no cold calling, no hunting for customers
  • Flexible scheduling—you control your calendar
  • Full Throttle Marine brand, marketing, and booking infrastructure
  • Defined service territory—your market, your customers
  • Photo report tooling and digital workflow provided
  • First-mover advantage in a market we're building from scratch
What We Don't Do
  • We don't put you in a shop
  • We don't cap your earning potential with hourly wages
  • We don't make you deal with customer acquisition
  • We don't bury you in shop politics
Certifications Accepted
  • ABYC (American Boat and Yacht Council)—any current certification
  • Yamaha Marine Technician Certification (any level)
  • Mercury Marine Service Technician Certification (any level)
  • Combination of the above strongly preferred
How to Apply

This market launches later in 2026. We are building our certified technician roster now. Early applicants with strong credentials will be given first priority when bookings open.

Don't wait until the market is live—that's too late.

Send your current certifications, a brief summary of your experience, and your availability today.
