Registered Veterinary Technician, Critical Care
Swing Shift

Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) – Critical Care / CCU
SAGE Veterinary Centers – Concord

Pay: $30–$40/hour (based on experience)
Differentials: $5.50/hr for any hours worked between 6pm-6am
Schedule: Full-Time | Wednesday–Saturday | 2:30 PM–1:00 AM

Join the Critical Care Unit (CCU) team at SAGE Concord, the largest specialty and emergency veterinary hospital in the East Bay. Our state-of-the-art facility offers advanced Emergency, Critical Care, Surgery, Neurology, Oncology, Cardiology, Internal Medicine, and more.

We are seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) with a strong background in emergency or critical care veterinary medicine who thrives in a fast-paced specialty environment.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor patient vitals, oxygen therapy, pain management, and recovery
  • Place and maintain IV catheters, central lines, and urinary catheters
  • Administer IV fluids, medications, and CRIs
  • Perform blood draws, laboratory testing, and point-of-care diagnostics
  • Assist with emergency procedures, CPR, anesthesia monitoring, and surgical recovery
  • Triage emergency patients and collaborate with veterinarians and specialty teams
  • Maintain accurate medical records and communicate patient updates
  • Support patient comfort, cleanliness, and quality of care
  • Maintain CCU equipment, crash carts, and treatment areas
Qualifications
  • Active California RVT license required
  • Minimum 2 years of veterinary technician experience preferred, ideally in ER or CCU
  • Strong venipuncture, patient handling, and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to calculate drug dosages, CRIs, estimates, and invoices accurately
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Must be available for the posted Wednesday–Saturday schedule
