Job description

The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills and have an ability to accurately track and record cash flow for a large Construction company. 

Responsibilities:


  • Review subcontractor payment applications for execution and notarization, calculation accuracy, discrepancies in all subcontractor values including Net Due, Revised Contract, Balance to finish, conditional and unconditional waivers, and stored materials documentation.
  • Own the entire accounts payable process and related AP documents.
  • Ensure AP Processor is timely routing invoices.
  • Review in thorough detail all invoices for accuracy and coding.
  • Ensure all payments (checks, wires, EFTs, etc) are made or requested timely and recorded timely, following up with approvers as necessary.
  • Coordinate weekly check signings with Principal.
  • Reconcile complex, extensive vendor statements.
  • Setup and ensure vendors are compliant with company standards (W9, insurance, waivers).
  • Respond to all vendor inquiries professionally and timely.
  • Generate job cost reports for project managers as needed.
  • Review all agreements and aggregate historical cost data to create granular cost estimates and reconcile existing commitments.
  • Deliver financial guidance to department leaders using analysis of projections, existing commitments, overages, and cash flows.
  • Perform month end reconciliations for around 10 bank accounts. Perform interim reconciliations as necessary.
  • Utilize foresight and experience to project low cash balances and advise the Project Management team of liquidity concerns.
  • Ensure Sage 300 modules and GL balances are reconciled.
  • Review all balance sheet accounts and ensure subledgers reconcile.
  • Review and intimately understand numerous complex intercompany accounts.
  • Maintain schedules and control of prepaids, accruals, deferred revenue, developer fees, and deposits.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of construction accounting or project accounting experience.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word).
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and time management skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates the highest level of integrity and professionalism, with the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
