Field Safety Advisor | Large-Scale Solar Farm

Professional Safety Solutions is seeking an experienced Safety Professionals to oversee the safety protocols and compliance on a large-scale solar farm project in Sangamon County, IL.

Our Expectations:

Health and Safety Professionals at ProSafe serve in a dual role: where the initial objective is to operate in a consultative capacity by providing expert support, guidance, and motivation to operations management and employees at all levels. In addition, along with management, the Health and Safety Professionals at ProSafe are expected to be a hands-on partner in delivering various safety initiatives and programs specifically to develop an excellent safety culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and oversee site specific safety programs to ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, and other industry regulations.
  • Conduct daily safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure proper safety practices are followed.
  • Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training sessions to educate workers on best practices and hazard awareness.
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety concerns, providing detailed reports and recommending corrective actions.
  • Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), fall protection, and other safety measures in accordance with site requirements.
  • Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and field personnel to integrate safety into daily operations.
  • Maintain accurate safety records, documentation, and reports in compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Act as a liaison between the company, clients, and regulatory agencies on safety-related matters.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of safety experience on utility-scale solar construction projects.
  • OSHA 510 certification required
  • NFPA 70E certification required
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, NFPA 70E, and other industry safety standards.
  • Proven ability to conduct safety training and promote a culture of safety.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Relevant safety certifications (e.g., OSHA 500, Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or equivalent) preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Willingness to travel to various project sites as needed.

Working Conditions:

This role will require working outdoors in various weather conditions and conducting regular site visits to the solar farms. The candidate must be comfortable with working in a fast-paced environment, and be able to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
