Airgas is looking for a driven, relationship-focused Safety Sales Specialist responsible for cultivating and advancing sales growth with an emphasis on safety supplies within an assigned region. This role involves nurturing and maintaining strong customer relationships, discovering and welcoming new business opportunities, and providing technical expertise and guidance to anticipate and support customer goals.
  • Conduct thorough research to identify potential customers and generate new leads.
  • Meet and advance sales goals for safety products and services.
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to identify, qualify, and partner with new customers within target industries.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing customers, understanding their evolving needs and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct technical presentations and product demonstrations to educate and support customers on the features, benefits, and applications of Airgas safety products.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including account managers, customer service, and technical support, to ensure seamless order fulfillment and build alignment on solutions.
  • Prepare and present accurate sales forecasts, reports, and pipeline updates to management.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to discover opportunities for product development or service enhancements.
  • Facilitate agreement on pricing and contract terms with customers, adhering to company guidelines and profitability objectives.
  • Attend industry trade shows, conferences, and networking events to promote Airgas safety products and expand professional contacts.
  • Build rapport and foster understanding to address customer inquiries effectively.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to provide solutions that meet customer requirements.
  • Resolve customer inquiries and concerns professionally.
  • Protect the confidentiality of sensitive information.

Required Qualification
  • At least 5+ years experience in welding industry or safety sales to be considered.
  • Must have reliable transportation to travel to customer sites.
  • Strong understanding of products and processes.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to perform data entry in a computer and extract information on orders.
  • Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to work with a wide variety of people with different personalities and backgrounds.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Valid driver's license and personal vehicle with insurance coverage as required by the company.
  • Ability to use tools, routinely lift 25 - 75 lb., climb, reach and perform various physical maneuvers to perform the essential duties of the job, with reasonable accommodation if necessary.
  • Must be able to operate in a drug-free workplace.
  • High school graduate or GED equivalent plus five (5) years industry experience.

Pay range: Base $92,000.00
