Job Summary

Reporting to the Safety Manager, the Safety Coordinator plays a key role in supporting and advancing our company-wide safety programs. This position partners closely with operations teams to ensure compliance, promote a strong safety culture, and drive continuous improvement across multiple site locations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular visits to asphalt plants, construction sites, quarries, ready mix concrete plants, and offices across the Rochester and Southern Tier region to promote safety awareness and compliance
  • Perform site audits and inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with  MSHA/OSHA regulations
  • Deliver and coordinate safety training programs, including new hire orientation, Human Performance and regulatory compliance training
  • Track and analyze safety metrics, maintain records, and support monthly/quarterly/annual reporting
  • Assist with reporting and investigation of incidents and support workersโ€™ compensation and liability claims processes
  • Recommend safety innovations, conduct risk assessments, and support proactive hazard identification
  • Develop safety communication tools such as checklists, forms, and toolbox talks

Job Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelorโ€™s degree in EHS, Occupational Safety, or related field
  • 1+ years of experience supporting safety or EHS programs (or equivalent combination)
  • Working knowledge of MSHA/OSHA regulations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Strong organizational and presentation skills
  • Valid driverโ€™s license and reliable transportation
