In addition to training all supervising employees on the proper safety procedures and hazard preventions set in place, safety managers investigate and study past incidents in order to improve employee safety. They create manuals, report incidents, and document changes. They also perform inspections on equipment and observe the workplace to ensure all rules are followed.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Safety Manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Safety Manager, you need expertise in occupational health and safety regulations, risk assessment, and incident investigation, usually supported by a bachelor's degree in safety, engineering, or a related field. Building strong relationships and maintaining open communication channels with different teams is essential for fostering a culture of safety throughout the organization.
