To thrive as a Safety Director, you need comprehensive knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations, risk assessment, and incident investigation, typically supported by a bachelor's degree in safety management or a related field. Familiarity with tools like OSHA compliance software, incident tracking systems, and certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional) are commonly required.
