SUMMARY
As a Safety Program Manager, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and improving safety programs to ensure a safe working environment for all associates across ORR’s South Region. The primary focus of this role is at the site level of the construction projects that ORR is involved in. This role partners closely with field operations leadership and regional branches to promote a strong safety culture while ensuring compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and company safety policies. The role also partners with ORRs corporate Safety Supervisor, who oversees the entirety of ORR’s safety initiatives nationally. The Safety Program Manager will also lead safety initiatives, conduct training, and manage incident investigations across field operations in commercial and industrial environments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop, implement and maintain region-wide safety programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Inspect or evaluate workplace environments, equipment, or practices to ensure compliance with safety standards and government regulations.
  • Investigate procedures and practices to identify potential causes or to determine how accidents might be prevented in the future.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain safety documentation, policies, and standard operating procedures.
  • Partner with branch leadership and field supervisors to ensure safe work practices.
  • Provide safety onboarding for new hires and ongoing refresher training.
  • Coordinate required certifications and compliance training.
  • Track safety metrics and provide reporting to leadership.
  • Maintain OSHA logs and required compliance documentation.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture across the organization.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Familiarity with NFPA standards and fire protection industry safety practices.
  • Ability to identify hazards, conduct safety audits, and implement corrective actions.
  • Strong incident investigation and root cause analysis skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a creative and collaborative mindset.
  • Ability to work independently and cross-functionally with teams across departments.
  • Models and exhibits a positive and flexible attitude in interactions with associates and vendors.
  • Motivated self-starter.
MINIMUM AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Safety Management, or related field, or related field preferred.
  • 5 years of safety program management or safety leadership experience, required.
  • 5 years of experience conducting safety training, safety audits, and incident investigations, required.
  • Ability to travel to branch locations and field job sites as needed, required.
  • Experience in the fire protection, construction, electrical, or life safety industry, required.
  • OSHA 500 Certification, preferred.
  • Professional certification such as ASP (Associate Safety Professional) or CSP (Certified Safety Professional), preferred.
