What are SAFe SPCs?

SAFe SPCs, or SAFe Program Consultants, are professionals certified to implement and train others in the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe). An SPC acts as a change agent, helping organizations adopt agile practices at scale by teaching, mentoring, and coaching teams and leaders. They are authorized to deliver official SAFe training and play a key role in launching Agile Release Trains (ARTs), facilitating SAFe events, and guiding the enterprise through its agile transformation. Becoming an SPC requires completing the official training and passing the certification exam. Their expertise ensures best practices and consistency across large, complex organizations adopting agile methodologies.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a SAFe SPC (SAFe Program Consultant), and why are they important?

To thrive as a SAFe SPC, you need deep knowledge of Agile methodologies, Lean principles, and the Scaled Agile Framework, along with a SAFe Program Consultant certification. Familiarity with Agile project management tools like Jira, Rally, and SAFe-specific systems is typical for this role.
