JOB TITLE: Sanitation Supervisor
DEPARTMENT: Sanitation
MANAGER TITLE: QA Director
BACKUP PERSONNEL: Sanitation Associates
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:
Overnight sanitation schedule is 9PM to 5:30AM. Leads a sanitation team of 4-6 employees daily with a focus on Safety and Sanitation as well as overall productivity of the team.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES
  • Ability to function in ALL roles on the sanitation team including washing and sanitizing equipment, utensils, and facility
  • Plan, lead and direct sanitation activities on the shift
  • Develop a work environment that promotes trust, teamwork, food safety, quality, and human safety
  • Assist in the building and maintain daily, weekly, and quarterly Master Sanitation Schedules (MSS)
  • Responsible for completeness of MSS checklists

  • Assist in the creation and verification of Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP's)
  • Periodically validates SSOP's and sanitation programs to ensure compliance
  • Manage chemical inventory and sanitation tools
  • Facilitate the accomplishment of SSOP's, other sanitation programs, GMP's, food safety and SQF requirements
  • Assure a safe work environment and report safety concerns to appropriate Management
  • Train and coach new team members as needed
  • Assist with selection, hiring, advancement, transfer, promotion, and termination decisions for the department
  • Work closely with QA department to ensure all sanitation policies ensure the plant is, and stays, in a food-safe manner
  • Responsible for the supervision of human safety, food safety and sanitation
  • Assure a safe work environment and report safety concerns to appropriate Management

OBLIGACIONES Y RESPONSABILIDADES PRINCIPALES:

  • Planificar, liderar y dirigir las actividades de saneamiento en el turno.

  • Ayudar en la creación y mantenimiento del Plan Maestro de Saneamiento (MSS, por sus siglas en inglés) diario, semanal y trimestral.
  • Responsable de que las listas de verificación del MSS estén completas.
  • Asistir en la creación y verificación de los Procedimientos Operativos Estándar de Saneamiento (SSOP, por sus siglas en inglés).
  • Validar periódicamente los SSOP y los programas de saneamiento para garantizar el cumplimiento de las normas.
  • Gestionar el inventario de productos químicos y herramientas de limpieza.
  • Facilitar el cumplimiento de los SSOP, otros programas de saneamiento, las Buenas Prácticas de Manufactura (GMP), la inocuidad alimentaria y los requisitos del estándar SQF.
  • Garantizar un entorno de trabajo seguro y reportar cualquier problema de seguridad a la gerencia correspondiente.
  • Capacitar y orientar a los nuevos miembros del equipo según sea necesario.
  • Asistir en las decisiones de selección, contratación, ascenso, traslado, promoción y despido del personal del departamento.
