Job description

  • Execute and manage quarterly, monthly, and daily valuations of portfolio company securities
  • Conduct valuation analyses of illiquid investments, including debt and equity securities, across industries and geographies
  • Build, modify, and use financial models for enterprise, equity, and debt instrument valuations
  • Apply discounted cash flow, market multiples, precedent transactions, and equity value allocation models
  • Research securities, industries, competitors, and capital markets
  • Gather and analyze market data, comparable ratios, and credit spreads
  • Review financial statements, investment memoranda, and transaction documents
  • Prepare and review valuation reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders
  • Mentor and assist junior analysts with valuation assignments and professional development
  • Support valuation conclusions and respond to auditor inquiries
  • Manage multiple assignments and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
  • Collaborate across the firm to complete assignments accurately and on time
  • Complete ad-hoc projects as needed
Requirements
  • Bachelorโ€™s or Masterโ€™s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field from an accredited institution
  • 4+ years of experience in a portfolio company investment valuation role
  • Experience as a valuation specialist at an accounting, valuation advisory, or independent asset management firm
  • Demonstrated experience valuing illiquid or hard-to-value investments
  • Exposure to a broad range of industries and security types
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills
  • Superior written and verbal communication abilities
  • Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team
  • Experience managing or mentoring junior team members
  • Authorization to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship
  • Progress toward CFA/ASA/ABV designation or relevant professional certification preferred as a nice-to-have
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling, including market data sources such as S&P Capital IQ preferred as a nice-to-have
