Field Safety Manager - TravelingS.J. Louis Construction, Inc. currently has an immediate opportunity for a Traveling Safety ManagerS.J. Louis Construction has hand-built its reputation as a leading national construction contractor specializing in underground utility, tunneling and excavation services. Louis Construction will also provide growth opportunities to develop skills as a Field Safety Manager that can be applied to complex projects across the industry. On the job training will be provided by an experienced staff that will provide you with tools to be successful in your career. Responsibilities include:Reporting to the Director of Safety and Risk Management, assists in the planning, administration implementation and enforcement of the Company's Safety Programs to control risks and losses.Assists with implementation of job specific requirements relating to safety, hazard analysis and emergency action plansFacilitates drug and alcohol testing in accordance with company, federal and state requirements.Conducts regular safety audits and inspections of assigned construction projects and other onsite personnel. Identifies hazardous conditions and reports findings to the Director of Safety. Ensures safety issues are resolved in a timely manner.Facilitates safety and loss control training for supervisors, employees and subcontractors, as required by Company Policy, Outside Regulatory Agencies or Contract SpecificationsOrganizes and maintains required record keeping of site safety activities, employee training and certificationsConducts accident /incident investigations as needed. Identifies root cause(s) and recommends corrective action measuresEnsures accident/incident reporting procedures and medical treatment/first aid plans are followedPrepares and submits required reporting to the Director of Safety and Risk ManagementReports observations or violations to the Director of Safety and Risk Management for enforcementRecords hazards and personnel exposure occurrences as requiredProvides understanding and interpretations of local, provincial and federal regulations and statutes relative to environmental safety, employee safety, and Workers' Compensation to ensure the Company's complianceAssists in maintaining positive and productive relationships and communication with employees, outside agencies or organizations as appropriateFrequent travel required - up 80% - 100%Other duties as assignedMinimum Requirements:Experience in Excavation and Trenching Safety a MustConfined space experience requiredThorough knowledge of 29 CFR 1926 A history of developing effective Safety initiatives that reduce accidents/incidents and heighten Safety awareness among employeesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsBilingual in Spanish is a preferred!Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving recordAbility to travel to jobsites throughout the United States - up to 80% - 100%Qualified candidates should submit their resume and salary requirement for consideration or apply online at www.sjlouis.com.EOE/M/W/VET/Disability/Drug-free/E-VERIFY Employer
