Position Summary

The SAP S/4HANA Basis/RISE Administrator is responsible for the technical administration and operational support of NPPD's SAP environment as the organization transitions to SAP RISE. This role focuses on system stability, performance, and structured change management across a hybrid SAP landscape.

The administrator coordinates system maintenance and outage communications, supports monitoring and transport management, manages certificate lifecycle activities, and collaborates closely with internal SAP teams and an external technical consultant to ensure reliable and secure platform operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform SAP S/4HANA Basis administration across a hybrid landscape, including monitoring, transports, upgrades, and patch management within SAP RISE
  • Coordinate system maintenance activities, including patching and planned outages, and communicate impacts to stakeholders
  • Maintain SAP security certificates and manage certificate lifecycle activities
  • Support SAP Cloud Connector and SAP Cloud ALM for monitoring, alerting, and transport oversight
  • Administer and support Linux-based SAP systems and printing services (including CUPS)
  • Document system configurations and operational procedures; communicate technical issues and resolutions clearly to cross-functional teams
Education, Training and Experience

Technical Analyst: ย Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (OR) ย Associate degree and a minimum of three (3) years technical IT experience, including specific experience as listed below (OR) High school diploma/GED and a minimum of five (5) years technical IT experience, including specific experience as listed below.

Systems Analyst:ย ย Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and a minimum of four (4) years technical IT experience as listed below (OR) ย Associate degree and a minimum of six (6) years technical IT experience including specific experience as listed below (OR) a high school diploma/GED and a minimum of eight (8) years technical IT experience including specific experience as listed below.

Senior Systems Analyst:ย ย Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and a minimum of eight (8) years technical IT experience as listed below (OR) ย Associate degree and a minimum of ten (10) years technical IT experience including specific experience as listed below (OR) a high school diploma/GED and a minimum of twelve (12) years technical IT experience including specific experience as listed below.

Experience

  • Ability to work independently and in cooperation with others on multiple activities with flexibility to manage competing demands and changing priorities

Ideal Technical Skills
  • Demonstrated experience in SAP S/4HANA Basis administration within complex or multi-system landscapes
  • Experience supporting SAP environments on RISE with SAP or other cloud-hosted SAP platforms
  • Familiarity with SAP Cloud Connector and SAP Cloud ALM for monitoring and transport oversight
  • Experience administering SAP systems on Linux operating systems
  • Understanding of SAP certificate management and system security best practices
  • SAP certifications in S/4HANA or SAP Basis
Licenses and/or Certifications

Security Clearance: Incumbent may be required to satisfy any existing and future District security clearance or background check requirements for access to key NPPD locations and/or supporting sensitive business applications.

Obtain and maintain intermediate to advanced technical certification aligned with key business system platform(s) used at the District (e.g. SAP, Microsoft Certifications, and Security related best practices) as applicable.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Technical Analyst:

Analyze, design, develop, configure, maintain, troubleshoot, and provide direction and support for complex systems, applications and databases in support of the District's computing environment. Provide technical architecture recommendations and apply best practices in system design, development, and testing. Collaborate with/advise/coach other ET/Corporate Security and business unit analysts to ensure understanding of business and technical work processes, tools, and best practices.

Evaluate, create, document, and test complex system-related interfaces and integration.

Maintains efficient and effective management of vendor contract service relationships pertaining to technical services.

Provide 24/7 system support, as needed.

Systems Analyst:

In addition to being proficient in all duties of the Technical Analyst, the Systems Analyst will also be responsible for the following duties:

Lead special task groups, trouble-shooting efforts, and integration and/or improvement project teams.

Lead the development and implementation of training and communications plans/materials.

Senior Systems Analyst:

In addition to being proficient in all duties of the Technical and Systems Analyst, the Senior Systems Analyst will also be responsible for the following duties:

Proven understanding of key NPPD business unit activities and successful application of ET/Corporate Security technical solution design, development, and responsive customer support and service.

Work closely with ET/Corporate Security management to oversee and lead resolution of complex technical challenges and new business system initiatives.

Salary Informationย -ย Nebraska Public Power District offers a competitive starting salary with opportunities for growth.ย In addition to the base salary range listed below, NPPD employees may also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program (AIP) that may supplement total compensation at a level above and beyond the stated salary range.ย  Successful applicants will be provided more information regarding the incentive program at the time of an interview.
