Job description
Reporting to the Director, Stewardship, the Associate Director is a member of the central stewardship team and collaborates closely with the Rutgers Health development team. Their primary responsibility is to design and implement a stewardship program that will meet the unique needs of the Rutgers-Health development team.
Essential Functions
- In partnership with the Director, Stewardship and the Rutgers-Health team, design and implement a stewardship program across all schools and units within Rutgers Health.
- Design and execute an acknowledgment program for donors, coordinating personalized communications from the Chancellor, Deans, and unit leadership.
- Create custom reports and gifts for donors who support strategic initiatives within Rutgers Health.
- Support the stewardship of donors who name spaces within new Rutgers Health capital projects.
- Organize special donor experiences with Rutgers Health leadership, including lunches and dinners, campus visits around the annual white coat ceremony and Convocation, special lectures, and more.
- Identify opportunities to help steward Rutgers Health scholarship donors and support these efforts.
- Support the stewardship of endowed faculty and director positions through annual reporting, donor meetings, donor recognition signage, and more.
- Provide data-informed recommendations to leadership and fundraisers about donor recognition and experiences, and work to ensure all donors experience gratitude and understand the impact of their giving.
- Collaborate with engagement marketing and communications to highlight donor impact stories.
- Serve as the liaison for the central stewardship office to the Rutgers Health development team, providing content and information to ensure Rutgers Health is well-represented in central stewardship and communications.

This position requires clarity of focus while juggling complex projects or deadlines with little physical effort. Will work evenings, weekends, or odd hours to meet resource-raising commitments. Typical working conditions with an absence of disagreeable elements. This position requires some early mornings and late evenings to accommodate meetings, travel, events, and external constituents’ schedules.
Workplace Arrangements
This is classified as an office-centric hybrid position. Colleagues working under an office-centric hybrid arrangement have a primary workstation in a university or foundation location and are in the office between one and five days a week. The frequency with which they are present in the office depends on their role and function and the interdependency of other functions.
Compensation and Benefits
The position is budgeted for an annual salary of $80,000. In addition to salary, Rutgers University Foundation offers:
