Job description

This position requires general guidance and direction by Radiography Staff.   Under the supervision of a certified Radiologic Technologist, the Radiological Technology Assistant (RTA) may transport patients, may perform imaging procedures based on level of competency, may answer telephones in support of performing radiology exams, may assist radiological technologist with tasks .  The RTA will operate standard and portable radiology equipment.  The RTA is expected to perform job duties with moderate independence and in accordance with established departmental and hospital policies and procedures.

Education Required:    Currently enrolled in the second year of a two-year JRCERT accredited radiography program.

Licensure/Certification Required:   None. BLS is required.

 Experience/Knowledge Required: Knowledge of radiology procedures, equipment, surface and visceral anatomy, medical terminology as it relates to radiology and radiation safety procedures and measures.
